I don't know what it is about thinking on this, but I've been going over a few items in the past few days and realized that GW has pretty much left so many in the past. That it's rather hard to come to terms with what it was that I really wanted to put up here.

Though I can think of one. Seeing as I started back to playing in 6th, after being away in the military. The very first army I picked up was a Chaos war band of Red Corsairs. With Blackheart being my first character at the time. Who was already being primed up for the release of 7th and even though I'd seen stats for his Astral Claws build. I was really interested in building a fast attack group at the time, with bikes and missile launchers. Using what little I could acquire for myself at the time and only when a hobby shop open almost an hour away. I was finaly able to actually outfit my army with some farm more powerful models.

I would love to see Huron be recast and get a stat update. Because he was such a powerful unit when it came to his Astral Claws variant and now he just seems rather gimped. Despite being a lord in his own right and supposedly Abbadon's greatest completion, besides Typhus.

One has to wonder. Do the Tyranids consider drop-assault troops... fast food?

As a Guard player: Rough Riders. Provides an inexpensive (compared to Kreig) Cavalry/early World War I itch whilst providing an inexpensive Fast Attack option that also gives more utility than the Turret/Blocker that current Sentinels give.

Invictus is "dead" but I'd like to see rules for Agemman especially now that there is a Plasma Blaster to kit bash with.

I liked Telion better as a Scout Squad upgrade rather than an IC.

I liked the Command Squads as 1 choice that maybe didn't even cost a FOC better than as 3+ Elites FOC's that always do. Letting a Command Squad type play FOC games with Champions, Apothecaries, or (some) other Elite choice single model infantry might solve that.

Sapphon should make a comeback.

Uriel Ventris. For that matter, any "character" in a Black library Novel that would/could have an entry in the codex, should have a datasheet in the back of the novel. So the Ultramarines squads should have an entry, but the Everyman miner from the world being over run who proves his mettle but isn't a guardsman or even a squad shouldn't.

Nor should they necessarily be materially different from what you could make if you guessed right about what each person had/did or have special rules.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
One added thought, I'd like to see a new Captain Tycho. The guy "died" before the first Primaris Marine hit the field. They need a new captain that won't give people continuity headaches if he's on the field with a Primaris marine.

Another thumbs up for Rough Riders - always regretted not having some in my army back in the 90s.

Also, Squats. Seriously, WTF has happened to 40k in the last 25 years?? I bought some from Macrocosm recently and they're fantastic.

40k returnee (originally played 1987-1995). Also loves Space Hulk and Dark Future.
Currently repairing/repainting/restoring 1st Ed. Imperial Guard Regiment + Mentor Legion attachment and original Space Hulk.

Ork cyborks!! They used to be the bodyguard for the painboy in 3rd edition, which was an HQ.

T5 1W 5++ like they were in 3rd, they could have their niche in the elites section.

Named characters like Zogworth, Wazzdakka and Nazdreg would be amazing as well and orks are currently lacking named psykers, bikers and warbosses that aren't primarch sized anyway.

Minderz! I loved the idea of two orks dragging around a Weirdboy who wanted nothing more than getting the hell out of there.

GW are bringing back alot of older models and even races so its a good time to hope.

Necromunda Scavs, Muties and Ratskins - seem to be all still curent in the lore going by the recent Kal Jerico novel.
All the missing Dark Elder characters
Cyborks and Cyboars would be fun
I still have my Tinboyz so that would be a bit of laugh.

Well, I'll start with the 3 that affect me the most....
1) Squats - for the past 20 years my squats have been biding their time, serving as another Guard regiment in my collection. 8th though provided me the option of souping in SM to make (more) proper use of my exo-armour & bikes/trikes. One of these days though a true squat army will return....

2) I'd really like my Las/plas Razorback turrets returned.

3) Rough Riders

After that? Anything from FW that I own that doesn't currently have rules. I have some Tyranid terrain that comes to mind, but I'm sure I've got some Guard vehicles that've faded away.

I'd like to see the old crazy rules for Orks return. Once upon a time Orks had a good dose of random effects. Over the editions Orks have gotten blander & blander, suffereing mightily for it.

Battlefleet Gothic, Mordheim, a proper version of Man O' War, a proper version of Epic, Warmaster, Inquisitor (at either "28mm" or the original 54mm scale).

There may be others, but those spring to mind as missing Specialist Games.

Tyranids - updates to the Pyrovore and Biovore into plastic (likely as a 3 models in one box duel kit)

Deathleaper and Lictor in plastic - again a duel kit with 3 in one box.

Spikerifles and such for gaunts - also a good excuse to update the gaunt sprue so that we no longer have split in half heads!!

As for models lost to the depths of time, even though I don't play them, Rough Riders! I'm still surprised GW removed and didn't replace these!

Also bring back most of those Forgeworld fantasy models that got dropped. Magama Dragon, Wolfrats, Warpfire Dragon. So many great models were lost this last Christmas :(

The Marine Standing Behind Marneus Calgar

There are a lot of classic kits I’d like to see re-cut and updated, instead of having more new stuff added.

The Banshee’s were a nice start, but the other aspects need an update. They look fine, but need to be in plastic. The grav tanks could all be consolidated into one box with how they do sprues these days. Design doesn’t need to change, but the detail is soft and you tell the mold is aging.

Marine box dreadnoughts is another one. I don’t need a new potbellied overgunned dread that kills it’s pilot. Angry. Washing. Machine. Again, they could probably consolidate a number of boxes with modern tech. And if you are going to keep one kit from the non primaris range, the dread should be it from a lore perspective. Flesh and blood will either die in combat or cross the rubicon, but the walking dead endure.

Space Marine Commander. The kit is old. But it let you make your commander. Not some monopose guy that’s leading every army. with so many options. I want him updated (even if it’s to primaris) because if they bring him up to date, that would be a sign they are getting rid of the no model no rules nonsense that’s a damper on the hobby side.

There is a huge amount of finecast that just needs a port to plastic. We don’t want replacements with some new unit that does something kinda similar. We want the classics in a material that doesn’t suck.

I've been thinking about this a bit lately. The reason I haven't started Orks, Guard or Eldar (again) is because of the ancient models. Especially when it comes to troops. Why oh why can't GW just do a full set of infantry boxes like the Necromunda sets for the main guard regiments? Or get the damned Pheonix Lords and Aspect warriors updated. Some of those models are more than a quarter of a century-old!!!

Yes! Or at least a damn upgrade kit that we can get, like back with the space wolves, or vanguard selections.

Hell, I'm going to make an addendum to my thread.

I want to see Defilers get their specific upgrades.

Debasers, Slaughterfiends, Deceivers and Desecrators.

I think it's because GW wants to pass off their AOS merchandise as some form of upgrade, or direct conversion kit. Because that's all that I've ever seen run as possible Berserker units.

That's a nice idea. Imagine going out and picking up a box of guardsman, that numbers more than 20, or at least has some more reasonable options.
When GW started popping out 5 man boxes of Cultist and Guard. My first thought was that it was an extremely unnecessary move... and stupid.

Who want's to buy a box that contains only a partial measure of your squad?
Doubly so for cultist. Especially when you could have over 40 units in a squad.

Yes, give the remaining Chaos God devoted Legions their favored troops in modern sculpts.

And then something for the Undivided Legions: give us Chosen. Make them look like true Veterans of The Long War, not renegades who just signed up to the Black Legion last week. Put them in Mark III, IV, and V armour, maybe even Mark II. Make them look like ancient warriors, whose armour is stained with the blood of a thousand worlds, who have sailed the seas of hell, who saw the Gates of Terra shake before them. Give us True Legionnaires!

And, of course, give them conversion kits for each of the Undivided Legions.
