As the title implies I've been away from GW fantasy/AOS for a very long time. I dipped my toes in briefly for a khorne stint but life got in the way and I dropped it. Now that things have settled down im buying into Ironjawz (got my first box of Orruk Brutes today) and I was hoping for gradual purchase suggestions etc for an essentially new player coming back to the hobby. I think I want to focus on the smaller points games for awhile until I can expand my army so Warcry/skirmish suggestions and advice would be excellent!!

I woud buy in this order for what you want to do:
1 start collecting: ironjawz
1 wierdnob shaman
1 start collecting: ironjawz
1 Megaboss on mawkrusha
5 brutes
20 ardboyz
This will build you most of the armies you woud want to run .

Agreed, though I would add in a foot megaboss after the first start collecting. That would give you a solid general for small-to-medium games.

Yes of course you need a megaboss. Dont know why i forgot to include him in my list. Buy him and the Shaman at the same time.

Beastgrave: Morgok's Krushas

was considering a Shadespire Ironskull's boyz but maybe not if they're just essentially Ardboyz?

I would only use the underworld groups as alternative Brutes/Ardboys. They are not worth the points otherwise.
