How do?
Jumped on Prime this morning to watch The Boys, and quite unexpectedly found the latest Walking Dead spinoff ready to regale me with its first season.
Got to say, I’m not put off.
It’s set quite a while after the outbreak, and was fairly Zombie light to begin with.
Defo going to at least see the first season out, and I’ve taken to it quicker than Fear TWD, mostly because the characters we’ve met so far aren’t instantly dislikable buttholes!

More looking forward to 2nd season of Black Summer but might see what this is like.
Agree re Fear - 1st season could not stand any of the characters so gave up on it.
main Walking Dead I just got bored with.

Did a bit of reading up. Seems World Beyond is set for 2 seasons of 10 episodes each.
Hopefully this will mean a clear, concise tale to be told.

I know what you mean about Fear, it did get better though . If this new one is more of a limited run fingers crossed they tell a discrete story instead of the meanderings of the other two series’.

Rewatched the first episode again last night, as I first had it one whilst “working”.
I’m solidly intrigued now! Got a loose key on the four main protagonists. And there’s definitely mileage in following people who grew up post-apocalypse, but seem to have done so in relative shelter and comfort.
In terms of it as a pilot? It works. We get an idea of what society is now, and a pretty decent bit of intrigue.
For those on the fence? Maybe give it another fortnight so you’ve three episodes to judge it by?

Thanks for the heds up - watched the first episode and enjoyed - much better pacing and characters than previous WD shows.
Interested to see where they go with it.

I watched it last night too, it looks nicely set to be a concise story as Mad Doc Grotsnik suggested.

Ughh I could not get past the horrible, self-obessed and unlikable main cahracters in that show - I wanted them all dead and walking after the first episode.

And crashing on with Episode 4.
Now we’re getting somewhere. Some real Tea for our teenage protagonists. A bit of The Real World starting to be felt.
Would I have preferred they got to this specific point quicker? After 10 seasons of following TWD’s survivors? Sure.
But taking 3 out of a total 20 (spread across the two planned seasons) doesn’t, on reflection feel like too many. After all, it’s a different, though familiar setting, looking to explore a new niche.
