Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but has anyone had any experience using something like kinetic or moldable sand on the battlefield. If so, how much would be required to make say a couple small, shallow hills?
Is it a mess? Simply pondering...

It is probably not worth the cost, easier to just buy some foam and make a hill, you cant change it as easy but wont have the issue of it changing during the game potentially.

The cost is certainly a factor, but other than that I just wonder how practical it would be. I have some foam hills but I thought kinetic sand might give players more interesting options.
I'm not too worried about anyone changing the terrain during the game. Except maybe that one guy...

Could be interesting, especially if you like narrative gaming with the possibilities of changing the state of the field during play (raising earthen walls by sorcery, blowing hills apart, creating craters when vehicles explode or particularily heavy ammunition gets used...).

Oooh, I like that idea! I hadn't thought of altering the terrain due to battle results. Knocked down earthen walls and craters could be very cool.
