In a word, no.
Tau in general are in a really rough spot with their current codex since the design paradigm for the game has changed so much that the gunline castle that Tau are known for fails flat on its face. It's all about the melee scrum in the middle and the Tau have no melee threat that can contend central objectives. The nerf to drones, which was their biggest crutch, only makes it worse for them. Banking on an expensive FW unit (in both points and money) to carry an army that fundamentally doesn't work in the game right now would not be the best call for me IMO.

Model looks cool but beyond that, it doesnt feel too thematic to have a big ass robot that wont move and will just shoot.

I really think it's time for some melee suits and an appearance of Empire aligned Races that excel in melee.
No reason they couldn't equip the suits with shotgun/flamer/sound based weaponry that work in melee to get around their depth perception = crap in hth reasoning.
It's time to make them less one dimensional. Must be a nightmare to write rules for as they end up powerful and oppressive or weak and terrible in different editions.

or just modify the datasheets to add melee fist. One of the FW units the 107, moved from the heavy slot to the fast attack so there might be a new FW heavy coming out.
While I would like to get a taunar, not sure how "fun" it would be since I would set it down and probably never move it.

I was looking at the rules for it, and saw that it is the only tau suit that has IK Foot stomps.
Hey! it is the only model that has a dedicated melee weapon (unless you take ATS on EVERYTHING!).
