No pre-orders this week, but we are promised a reveal of this year’s Store Anniversary Models.

In previous years, we’ve had a Primaris Captain, and an AoS model. And going on the boxes, the female Catachan was intended to be one.

I’ve no idea what to expect this year, but I’m hoping it will be at least one from the Advent teasers. Anyone care to take a guess before the official reveal?

They've just done a Primaris Chaplain that everyone bought so probably another one with a different weapon just to be awkward? I always liked that classic one with the powerfist and crozius

Without commenting the current situation, personally I am against all store or event exclusive models because they will always divide hobbyists into those who have access to them and those who do not. I can live with models being made to order or available online for a limited time because then I have at least a chance to buy them.

I applaud the work that Loot group is doing for the benefit of the hobby but it is only a partial solution to the problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.

I would have thought that the Catachan Colonel model was going to be the store anniversary model this year, as the packaging on the box says "Store Anniversary Model".

It was intended to be the store anniversary model last year, but the inventory was shifted to independents instead.

I genuinely would not be surprised if they do not reissue that Catachan Colonel except as an event model going forward.

Speaking of exclusives in general, that’s Gurzag up for order.

120 day turnaround, and a single week order window.

The last made-to-order exclusive I bought was Tariana Palos; I had forgotten about it by the time it arrived, was no longer at all interested and just sold it to a local guy at cost. Can't say I'd bother doing that again

This is incorrect. The Colonel was never announced as anything other than "something special for independent stores". The packaging, however, said Store Anniversary Model. Here is the announcement article that discussed the situation. It's understandable to think that he was a Grand Reopening model though, since it was an article about reopening their webstore.

Sergeant Ripper was the store opening/rebranding model for 2020-2021.

The store anniversary model usually gets announced in June, if I'm remembering correctly. A lot of shops probably did not get to do Sergeant Jovan or Larissa Shadowstalker thanks to COVID. I know my own local GW did not get the chance to.

I'm still waiting for my Ripper Jackson to appear - and I'm still excited for her to arrive. If I ever get my tyranids a bit more complete and start a genestealer cult she's going in that cult no questions asked!

Models are made to order, and book should be purchasable. The rest are likely, but unconfirmed, to be spending rewards, as they’re in-line with previous year tiers. Art things look to be lenticular, flipping between each image. Yay, I guess?

Well, I'll be getting at least three of that Stormcast. I've been wanting to convert up Knight-Zephyros and this gives me something like 95% of the model necessary.

Whelp, that's going to be my Techomancer with CCN. Will need to get 2 of th em.

That bags very different too the last few years. It looks almost like a small shoulderbag instead of a backpack, but its hard to tell scale.

Dice bag and magnetic dice rolling mat are both very neat and very practical additions

Artwork looks to be a little less than previous years (normally its 4) but there's a collected story book in there this year as well.


Going to have to hunt down a copy of that new necron. And look not a single marine or primaris in sight!
