I really like the models.... but I have zero interest in KT... the "terrain"... well its just a sad excuse.

I have 3 small boxes full of that worthless terrain... but best part is that I believe instead of including proper terrain... the terrain walls are "printed" on the mat.... F

I REALLY hope that this KT box is not the same price as the previous one, otherwise this is a straight up racket.

Gw tends to put new models on big boxes. No surprises. You get them at 35e/5 price later.

This was pretty much known for months

I’d be shocked if the minis were not available separate in short order. If not, I’m sure plently of people will be breaking up the box.

Billing those little bits of scatter terrain as a selling point is a bit much IMHO.

Considering most sets are sold at discount its a good thing - provided there's enough stock - you'll likely be able to pick up those models on ebay or trade groups for less than GW retail at 3rd party stores. So its a good thing all round.

Heck you can likely just buy the set and then sell the parts you don't want and keep those you do and likely not even end up spending anything (even without scalping the prices you sell at).

So yeah I'd say its a good thing!

Chronomancer and Flayed Ones (in plastic) look interesting.
But buying the whole KT box is not an option.

As a necron player, you probably have better luck finding halves of boxes from people splitting.

Indeed, this would be an option.

yeah I was "fine" with the usual "new models" to box sets... but going all new models was slightly annoying.....

but I agree 100% billing the scatter terrain as a selling point was too much

I have both armies so its an option for me, but given what happen with the indomitus prices after launch for like 5 months, you might be better off buying the set unless you want to wait months for the new dedicated kits.

I am mostly interested in the HQs myself. I really dont care for the flayed ones or heavy ints... the later just look like lazy money grab copies of regular ints

NDK no longer GK exclusive, make me sad. Nice vampire and the new elf though, excluding the animal looking ones.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

If I had to bet money, I am guessing it will be the same price as the previous one. The set includes "everything" you need to play a game according to the description. And since they are including only new figures, I am sure that is logic they will use to charge the same as the previous one with the much better terrain. I might just buy the previous KT set because the terrain is very good.

Makes sense.
The starter set was 125€.

It does seem a bit of a pisstake that this, at least for the time being, is the only way in which you can get Flayed Ones. The Intercessors not so bad, as they can be converted easier than FOs, and you may only need 5, whereas from what I've read you really need a unit of at least10 FOs to be useful, so you better get several KT boxes.

Based on how the Indomitus boxed set ended up being priced when broken up, it will probably get expensive for anyone wanting the heavy intercessors, but a great way for a Necron player to get a horde of flayed ones. The chronomancer also has two weapon variants so there will be a lot of those floating around for anyone wanting some unique lychguard/praetorians. I'm still trying to convince my friend that for only $10 each, he should use the Indomitus skorpekh lord torsos to make beefy heavy destroyers.

No kidding. I assume the base scenarios give the flayed ones nigh-infinite reinforcements like space hulk genestealers.

Necron-wise I've got so many better, & better looking, choices that I'd need a helluva lot of practically free Flayed Ones (both in $ & pts) to be useful.

yeah exactly, you need at LEAST 10 flayed ones and with the way things worked out with indomitus, people would be better off buying 2 KT boxes, because almost everyone in Necrons discords/channels wants 10-20 FOs so the second market will be marked up.

The whole thing seems a bit of a pisstake that they included all of the long teased units like this. I can't fathom how they can justify KT growing and selling well on it's own when they do this.

Took about 5-6 months for stuff in indomitus to be released on its own, 2 years with other stuff released in other boxes (i.e. Ragnar) Realistically people are looking at least 5 months for a dedicated box.

Given how much people have been asking about heavy ints and Flayed Ones, You are likely right. GW knows what they are doing, they are first a minis company through and through

I was thinking about that! I was like 5 man unit of close combat that moves 6" vs 5 man that shots across the board? Makes sense lol

GW is giving us RC Cola terrain now, so they just "print Walls" on map and give us garbage scatter terrain.

Look at the example and you can see the printed walls on the mat making rooms and limiting view

Unlikely, the map has "printed walls" with rooms/doors look at the example video

I'd find 125€ excessive for the contents shown. 160€? I have some things in mind I can not type out here without risking a warning. Just no.

If you can do me a favour? Please quote me when the official price is out in the open. I might need some reality check or so it seems...

I know 2020 was quite a year, but Saga of the Beast only released back in March.

Were you meaning the Space Wolf Primaris Lieutenant dude? I'm still not sure if he has been released individually - or, if he has, under what name, as I couldn't find him on GW UK just now.

GW has done so many stupid things in the last 6 months, selling a Box worth 70€ (ast the terrain is a joke and it is still a Starter Box) for much more

and it will be sold out on pre-order as people just want the models and nothing can be stupid enough to prevent people from buying it

Well that looks to be a remarkably lopsided box. Captain and Heavy Intercessors compared to a Cryptek and five Flayed Ones? I hope nobody is splitting halfsies for that.

I wonder if they'll be a full kit for the HI.

It really depends on how the Chronomancer and RP works in Kill Team. The Chronomancer with the lance can pretty much pop one each time he shoots and put them in extra injury rolls. If he also grants a 5++ to all the FO and if they still stand up on 5s the HI bolter would cause out of action 3 out of 4 times. If the LD ability of FO affects nerve tests it could help, too.

Not that any of this would translate to 40K anyway.

If Warcry is any indication, I'd expect these Necron and SM to come out soon after their release in the Kill Team Box. The Warcry Catacombs box came out on 10/31/20 and the warbands in that came out separately on 12/12/20. I'm expecting something similar for these, if not sooner just because they are essentially taking 40k units and putting them in KT.

I was planning on getting this KT set anyway as I play that with others and I know I'll use the models from both sides plus the terrain pieces.

It'll be Catacombs pricing, but because it's 40k/Marines it'll sell out in minutes.
