I haven't posted anything here in several years, but I have been reading time to time. I'm getting back into the hobby and decided to try my hand at airbrushing. I bought some equipment, that arrived a few days ago, still have to do some reading and try things out. The compressor I bought was this model https://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Model-TC-40T-Single-Piston/dp/B00WBT7PTW

Even though I bought it to airbrush, I had a thought. Instead of buying cans of compressed air, could I use this compressor with some type of blowgun to blow dust off my models and electronics, and if so what would work with it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I would like to update the information here. The adapter originally ordered did not work. I wanted to wait until I got the right part and tested it before updating.

After an unnecessarily long wait due to supplier issues with my first attempt, I switched suppliers and finally got the right part. The first supplier took several weeks and two delivery attempts, and I never got the part. Amazon gave a refund. Second supplier sent the part in 2 days!

Anyway the original adapter had a threading issue. It has to do with the angle of the threads. Here is a link that explains it, this other person had the same problem.

Here is the adapter that works.

I hope this helps anyone before they make the same mistake I did.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but you can just use the airbrush? Don't put any paint in it, and just blow air. Turn the pressure up a bit from what you use for painting - should be plenty for dusting models or electronics.

That's what I do with my own if there's been a dusty session.

I would not recommend using my airbrush with the pressure turned up too high. Get a proper air hose nozzle, as you can blow out your seals setting pressure too high - I did that on a nice Badger brush I had years ago.
