Hey guys!.
Thanks for your help with the KO post a couple of days ago! I've narrowed my second army down to these two.
I'm not bothered that seraphon is currently top or not, I'm just after an army that's fun to play with and play against! And that's a break from my lumineth (preferably one that's easier to paint as my lumineth are killing me! They're so hard to paint)
Any help is always greatly appreciated!

Orcs are my main WFB army but I think for AoS the Lizardmen/Seraphon are cooler. You've got a bigger diversity of units to choose from, a lot more potential for colourful paintjobs, potentially done fairly easily with contrast paints.
Orruks, the big ones, are a much more limited range. You've got big orcs in armour, smaller orcs in armour and mad orcs in no armour, and then boar versions for the big ones and mad ones. One big monster riding leader and you're done.
Whereas with Seraphon you've got Skinks, Kroxigor, Saurus, Elite Saurus, 2 types of support dinosaurs, saurus and skink leaders riding dinosaurs, pterodactyls, acid spitting lizards, magical frogs and a diverse selection of different heroes and so on. You've also got two start collecting boxes that if you put together give you a decent selection of fun units.
I dunno, that's my point of view anyway!

I think that the lizards are, in my more limited experience, pretty fun to paint. And as Da Boss says, they've got a good variety to them. I say lizards all the way

Pretty much this. Kind of sad since Greenskins used to be the most diverse and colorful armies in the game.
Of course, that diversity could be a problem, too. A lot depends on what you want to get out of the army. Ironjaws will largely be the simplest to paint, I think, as they don't have the features or different scales of the lizards, but they may be too simple for you.
There's another consideration, though. With the Luminenth, you already have an army of Order. Having a different Grand Alliance may be interesting so Orruks would be the way to point. Of course, since both Seraphon and Lumineth are both Order, there may be opportunities to unite them in a big game in the future.
So aside from getting away from painting your Lumineth, what do you want out of your second army?

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

A whole lot of that.
Orks?
Plus side: Easier to paint than Lumineth for sure. Pretty simple to play as well.
Down side: Pretty limited model range & play style - unless you start branching out & allying in Gloomspite stuff, Ogres, or the new Mega Gargant.
Seraphon?
Plus side: Still easier to paint than Lumineth. Quite a range of models. Several playstyles. And if you're not married to using GW pieces you can get fantastic dinosaur models much cheaper (and already painted) {check out the stuff by Pappo, & Schliech} often at your local Walmart/Target or Amazon.
Down side?: Rules wise doesn't ally with much. Some of the pieces are absurdly pri$ed and made of "Fine Cast" resin :( (see: Salamanders. And the go buy a small Dimetrodon dino from Schliech & arrange some skinks around it....)

Depending on your local meta you might need to tone down lizards a bit. Easy ways to do so is use slann rather than kroak, use some other subfaction than fang of sotek and don't go overboard with salamanders(especially in fang of sotek). Even 3 can be quite brutal(when I organized tournament last weekend just 3 ran over 12 ogres...Not many units can munch through 12 ogres just like that).
Of course if your group is going for maximum power less need and then you won't be behind the power curve at least so can give as good as you take without worry. It's easier to tone down lizards than try to match up power level of superior books with crappy book.

I’ve always loved lizardmen due to the sheer freedom when painting them.
Loads of different colours in one army because of all the different units, yet it still looks like a cohesive army.
Main thing is how you want to play them due to the split in their army.
You essentially get daemon like lizards for summoning and then more primal ones with no summoning but a heavy combat focus.
You also get to use a dreadsaurian, which is far too much fun.
Edit: as above, they are also highly adjustable on the power scale.
Things like kroaknado and sally spam are instant top units.
You can simply ignore those though to lower it with other options.
Only downside is a lot of finecast in the army still.

Between Orruks or Seraphon I would recommend Seraphon currently. Mainly cause you can go nuts with them.
