Well unfortunately today I decided to pull the trigger and buy a resin printer, wash and cure machine and extra resin. So I’ll be waiting until retail. The sale was too good and I have tons of .stl files that I would like to do before starting a newer new army.

Yes, separate KS.

The zombies I received from the KS were fantastic. I woulda jumped on this one instantly... if I could have built hand weapons or two handed weapons as axes. It's all hammers, spears and swords though. Saved me some cash I suppose.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

Well this makes a big difference for me as the Rambukk riders is the kit I'm waiting for. Realistically there was no way they could tool 5 kits for €20,000. Hopefully it gets there, I'll leave €1 in for updates for now.

That's kind of a massive thing to miss off from the details... and incredibly unprofessional.

I'm likewise in for the Rambukk riders, so if we're not close to hitting 50k near the end I guess I'm downgrading my pledge...

They're not Kickstarter users like CMON. It was a simple mistake. From their first news :

Thanks to your reports, we realized that a piece of the campaign was missing. Due to continuous changes to the project, unfortunately the following image was skipped, which specifies what we can release thanks to your contribution.

We immediately modified the project and we apologize for the mistake, we also thank all those who in the comments are indicating what does not seem clear

Still a bumper for sure, but yeah, it was a bit low for all those plastic kits.

@Smokestack - could you please ask Fireforge on KS comments, if they have plans to expand their Living Dead range, especially with plastic skeletons?

Was anyone able to figure out the UK VAT & import duty situation? I'm tempted, but I'm pretty sure that if we get charged those things, the savings on this will be more than wiped out.

The plastics are molded by Renedra in the UK. There is a another facility in the EU making the box. Components flow both ways with assembly both in Italy and UK, so no customs for EU and UK..

They have been asked this on Facebook before. Their answers are always yes, the di plan to expand the northmen and undead ranges, and have some designs being worked on. But they won’t comment on what those are. There used to be a Fireforge person that would come and comment and discuss stuff in one of the groups on Facebook, but fulfillment of the 1st Kickstarter wasnt as smooth for everyone, and he ended up getting chased out of the group, unfortunately.

To be honest, I don't think there's a point to make announcements that won't be related to their current Kickstarter that is only focused on dwarves, not northmen nor undead. If they could have put the orcs in, they would have done so already...but since they were not ready even though they pushed the Kickstarter initially at a later date, I don't really see them doing it out of the blue for the duration of the Kickstarter campaign.

Yeah, they stated no northmen or undead in this Kickstarter. Since Orcs seems to be their next forgotten world project, and they have talked about other historical things they are working on, I don’t think there will be any news on northmen or undead for s while.

The dwarves were very tightlippped. We had gotten some news on Orcs and then about a month or 2 before this Kickstarter we started getting the dwarf wip stuff. I think they are gun shy interacting with the customers… or just don’t want to over promise.

Would you guys say that Living Dead Warriors could be a good proxy for skeletons? I ask because I am concerned about the current plastic skellies on market being either fragile or weirdly proportioned, and have a thought about taking LDW as proxies for skellies, untill someone, maybe FF, will produce some new, durable ones.

That depends on whether you and your co-gamers want classic Ray Harryhausen skeletons or not. I use the FF Living Dead for Dead Marsh Specters right now in our Middle Earth gaming. They do however have a certain zombie vibe going on with the obvious wounds and pigeon toed stances.

It would be a temporary solution so I doubt any would mind. And I really want ''normal'' skellies but the current offer on the market makes me think and rethink again and again. So I thought maybe proxying them for a while with LDW would help me decide, or maybe in a meantime some new skelies would arrive?

I went big in on the first KS (Living Dead) but not so bothered on this one as have tonnes of Dwarfs and these don't really match up with my idea of Dwarfs based on the old GW aesthetic. However still watching it and I can only say good things about the Living Dead range which are great quality and value and well worth picking up...they would make a lovely proxy for skeletons...so characterful.

Smokestack mentioned that Fireforge plan on doing their own skeletons and other units for Living Dead...they really need to make this happen!
I think in general Undead models done well have great crossover appeal in different games systems.

I don’t have any experience with the undead models. They look cool, just not an undead guy… I do like werewolves and vampires though…

I wanted to buy LD Peasant kit since looong time (always too late, so quickly they are being sold in my country, so I am inpatiently waiting until post covid stock will be renewed), and now I want to get the LD Warriors and Knights too plus Folk Rabble (useful in many games).

Yeah, I have been trying to get some living dead peasants as well. Even if you do not want undead they make great raggedy, poor peasants, beggars, lepers etc. The Folk Rabble set is brilliant, so useful. I can not complain about the quality of these sets.

Well… I noticed that everything in the campaign stated the material it is being made from, except the accessory sprues, so I asked…

I had assumed they were hard plastic like the dwarves, but Fireforge responded. The accessory sprues are resin. I am a bit disappointed. The resin shields from ks1 were fine, but the heroes were my least favorite part as the resin did not come out well…

Yeah, they're quite durable for sure. And they're clearly soldiers, not mere peasant dirt gak.

Front rank of my unit of zombies are them :

Can do the job. Also possible to replace their heads with skulls you can find almost everywhere. You can make them look like "skeletons" more easily that way.

Well that's quite dissapointing. I planned to get quite a few of the things...

Good idea on replacing the heads with plain skulls, whether you use Living Dead peasants or warriors.

If using Living Dead Warriors as Grave Guard buy a pack of Fireforges Bardics 24 in a pack for €6 to replace the spear tips and make great blades that are more in the style of the Kosargi Nightguard. Some of the LDW carry the spears 2 handed.
