That’s not bad to be fair.
My pc probably won’t run any of them, but.. for when I get one that does, nice to have in the back pocket.
Kind of what you’d pay for them in a humble bundle anyway..

Worth it for VTide 2 and maybe TTW (1) and Space Marine I suppose? The rest seems to be usual shovelware.

Shame it's all 1 code. There's a few there that I'd like but I already have the 2 biggest games there (Vermintide 2 and Total War: Warhammer) and would have prefered to be able to give those away.

Titanicus Dominus isn't even finished, it's still in early access, has been since 2018 and looking quite poor. Talisman is boring unless you multiplayer it. Warhammer Underworlds Online is a card collecting game. Chaos and Conquest is an MMO PVP, so grind away! Those along with Sanctus Reach, Amrageddon, and Space Wolf can be considered "shovelware", to use another person's term, i.e. not very good. Vermintide is OK if you like co-op stuff. Best on that list of 12 are Warhammer Quest 1/2, Total War Warhammer II, Dawn of War, and Space Marine. I already have those. But still worth picking up for the price of White Dwarf if you don't have them...

Worth it for total war warhammer alone IMO. (if you haven't got it already)

Depends on the game. If the developers (of each game) did a Mac version, then yes.

I like that the non-WD content is by far the greatest draw of this WD for months/years.

Yeah I would have loved it.
I know it had issues, and people will be quick to speak up about them I’m sure, but it was a really enjoyable play, interesting story, good mechanics and gameplay etc.. Automatically Appended Next Post: Index Astartes is the Excorcists.
Aren’t they the chapter in the now GW animation Astartes?

Note for anyone thinking 'ah, its TWW1':
Total War Warhammer is actually a wonderful innovation in gaming design where they'll gladly staple any DLC and sequels you buy onto the game to create an ever-more unwieldy, great and unholy abomination of an uber-game together for you. Also, content you don't buy, you can still play against - the wood elves, for example, are a DLC race if you want to play them, but they still show up in your game if you just want to play against them.
I don't think the sequel works like that - if you want to play with the races from TWW2 you do have to buy that game to unlock that region of the map - but it is a sales structure that has my appreciation as a player as it makes for an insanely expansive game. My three campaigns that I have running right now are in such utterly distinct areas of the map that I have almost no hope of ever actually seeing a single region I've conquered in any of my other campaigns.
|
"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

Im very confused by what you are trying to say?
Every faction has a win con that does not involve conquering the whole world (you can do coz its TW...)
There are two distinct campaign modes in WHTW2 Vortex and Mortal empires.
The second game takes into account you have the first game and unlocks mortal empires I think. And you dont have to buy any of the DLC if you don't want to.
Also there are plenty mods doing lord and hero packs that are not covered in the game studio version.
If you are a fan of WHFB the total war games give it justice in my opinion. If I want to I can play as Tyrion and make him go full anearion and draw the sword of khaine and slaughter armies by himself. Or I can make him benigng ruler and make peace with wood elves, dwarves and men to get rid of Chaos, skaven and Dark elves. I dont think Ive put in the hours into any other game(certainly a single player one) apart from maybe EVE online

I have no problem with this. THIS is getting WD back to the days with free snacks and a reason to pick it up... They have been doing great in the past year or so. Kudos to GW for a change.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Space Marine was an awesome game if a bit too monotonous for an AAA title. I proposed way back in the day that 15%-20% of the gameplay time should have been devoted to narrative instead and we ended up with a more balanced and engaging experiance.

It would be better if the actual content of the magazine was good, rather than the reason for picking it up being the 'free' stuff...

Nice, this will probably be the first WD I'll have bought in 10 years.
It helps that there's some Eldar content in the issue!

The Dwarf is a quite enjoyable read afte the reboot. Sure, one could argue about the price, but for me it's tolerable.

Yep, I think the current version of WD, since the last reboot, is generally pretty good. It has actual articles with words in them for a start!
Interviews and columns with\by the designers etc., extra rules for games, has even had some modelling projects that involve (gasp) non-GW products!
I've been reading pretty regularly since issue 100 (with a bit of a gap in the mid-90s and when it went weekly) and I think the current version is certainly up there with some of the best periods, far better than it has been for quite some time IMO.

A few of those are pretty good games. Warhammer Vermintide II is on sale right now on steam but it's still like $8 - so that covers most of the cost of the magazine alone and it's a game well worth playing.
