Honestly if your experience has been such that my assessment is really inaccurate that is great for you. Its not an argument I even want to win. I hope you never have to experience what I have witnessed.

I think the scenes tend to regulate themselves and the results are a product of the local culture.

ITC has a terrible sportsmanship system and no comp system. Rubbish in rubbish out

It's almost as if ITC doesn't care what you bring or how you play as long as you stomp your opponent into the ground and max your points... Sportsmanship has no bearing on your W/L except to be such a jerk that your opponent makes mistakes and you score more points. Why score army composition when the goal is to smash your opponent with the hardest stuff in your army? Everyone is going to bring the same meta lists anyways, so comp scoring is useless.

The ultimate play ( move) would be to max your points in the first game, and at the bottom of turn 5, tell your opponent you concede.

More seriously I have zero problem interacting with a scoring system in this way - especially given the risk. If you don't want that behaviour move to a 3-1-0 scoring process.

Correct. Don't blame players because you poorly designed the system.

I thought we proved this demonstrably years ago when they admitted to lying about their playtesting data and making their tournament rules in favor of their preferred armies.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
