Pretty sure it's not unawareness of common practices. They just want you to trust them that the item they discounted is a good deal. Objective facts are only going to get in the way of that.

It wouldn’t work right for GW since they create their own sliding scale exchange rate pricing. What would be 15% in one currency might well be 17.62% in another.

Fire sale on Dominion is hilarious, only a month ago they were pushing it with FOMO-inducing "low stock, buy now" banners and now it's £87, cheaper than bargain basement resellers.

The international store has the products on sale without discounts. I hope they update soon.

Time to scalp some Dominion boxes for the future, I guess...

It's sad about Dominion, I think it's a great set but clearly the market isn't quite there if they're flogging them on the cheap now.

But I thought that GW couldn't lower their prices because something something moulds are expensive, high street stores, capitalist system..?

Dominion is certainly annoying for anyone who played full price, particularly GW price buyers etc.

It's roughly now the same price you can get it off ebay (so I'm hoping it'll drop down even lower there). I guess dominion didn't sell out as well as they had hoped

If that is true I'm hoping they'll take that as a sign to continue fleshing out AoS with different and interesting factions.

It tarnishes the brand as well. They can't possibly ever reduce prices.

A little tidbit about Dominion. They were doing a promotion of dlc for a video game when you bought Dominion. They made 33,000 of them. Two hours ago it was still available, but now it has gone.
That's quite a lot of copies especially as it only covers copies sold online. Didn't they used to print just 10,000 copies of Space Hulk etc? I'm sure I saw that rumour several years ago.

Overpriced and unasked for.
AoS had a lot releases in early 2021, 3 full armies, 7 books and Cursed City. All of these were very popular, especially the soul blight release. People don't have infinite money.
A lot of people were fairly happy with second edition, and thought it's life should have been extended especially as w missed a year due to COVID.
The box set was essentially divided into three sections; Stormcast, Kruleboyz and Hobgrotz. Very few people liked all three.
The changes to the rules didn't seem to address the biggest problem people were having at the time. The AoS version of overwatch was particularly unpopular. I think that one rule drove quite a lot of people away.

I honestly think that if they had delayed the game, spaced out the broken realms books a bit and then released the game in November, it would have sold a lot better.

This forum is a bit biased against AoS but most people who play the game regularly will tell you the game is the best it has ever been with balance that is only slightly broken. There are 9 armies that are capable of winning tournaments regularly. The game certainly isn't dead by any means.

For.those in the know (ebay resellers) is it the storm cast or orcs (or both) that are not selling.well?

Weirdly both seemed to sell about the same.
£40-50 or so I think basically.

I guess people should sit on them. That one piece sprue will eventually come out like Indomitus for £40 or £60 individually. Maybe recoup some cash that way.

My guess is that a year of basically everything selling out instantly and the absurd amount of boxes Indomitus sold gave both GW (and the fanbase) the impression that they could sell you Warhammer-branded air-in-a-jar and they'd sell. So they produced as many/more boxes of Dominion as Indomitus, however the problem is that whilst AoS sells well, it probably isn't anywhere near to the silly levels of 40k. Everybody rolled out the red carpet expecting it would sell like hotcakes because, well, everything else in 2020/2021 has been and why wouldn't their second biggest line's new edition?

The other thing is that AoS' armies have a much wider spread of popularity. In 40k you know Marines are going to sell because maybe 70% of tables have Marines on them and even people who don't play them probably have a decent collection. Whilst Sigmarines are probably AoS' most popular army, the gap between them and the second most popular is not anywhere near as wide as that between Marines and 40k's second most popular range. Even if you're a diehard AoS fanboy, the odds of you picking up Dominion are much smaller compared to Indomitus where the majority of people wanted the contents.

Can anyone else see the Warhammer Day miniatures on U.K. site? I’m guessing they’ve sold out already, I can see them on Aussie and NZ store but not U.K.

That's probably because they're not up there yet. Things get put on the Aussie and NZ store before the UK one.

I got the impression from several AOS players that the new orc aesthetic was quite poorly received. AoS has a lot of competition with well designed models, and convincing people to start a new army with one of the least popular ranges was too much of a tough sell.

GW could make the warscrolls for AOS3.0 free again online, I think that had more to do with it not selling as well. I picked up Dominion because the new Stormcast look fantastic (with a head swap), but the Orruks did not initially draw me at all. Not that I have them in hand and seen other people’s takes on them I think they look great.

Yeah, the new orruk are very different aesthetically than the other ones. Makes you wonder why they made them orruk and not some other race (fimir..). I guess the goal was that existing orruk players would add them to their army, but it doesn't seems like it was the case.

There is part of me that wonders if that project in fact began as Fimir, and then they decided they didn't want to try to rehabilitate them because of the negative attention their past might bring to GW.

Like, I love the Fimir design wise - incredible monster design, IMO- but I would understand their hesitancy.

The flip side is that they were in the Total War Games an no one cared at all.
