Also a heads up to GW for putting each major release update on its own community page. Far better than in the past where I was constantly refreshing the video page which messes up the video somewhat when you just want to glance at the photos whilst listening

Overall solid reveal in my view! Custodes and Sisters of Silence formally in one army with a new leader model; Cults getting a new leader, who looks great, and getting a new codex

New Dungeonbowl looks like a fun release for BB fans

Warcry steals a huge prize for awesome terrain and two warbands - honestly the spiders are nice but totally beaten by the classic barbarian style Darkoath warriors - if they don't finally kill off Marauder models I don't know what will.

Underworld continues to get pure fun with pirate ogors and beasties!

New HH Primarch, not an interest for me but a freaking awesome looking sculpt that I'm sure fans of that series will love.

And a fun tease of a Christmas model at the end.

Overall solid fun stuff! Sure its not a whole years worth of releases; but we've come to get used to that we get around 2-3 months of releases from these major previews now so I'm not all that bothered. It just means we'll like as not get a great preview for next year around Christmas

From what I can tell, the Custodes VS GSC box was rumoured in the same set as the Squats.

Yes, same source gave both. Everything on the list has come true so far (except for one Black Templar unit which turned out to be a conversion in the rule book).

Squats were mentioned for next year (or even later). I believe we have Elder and Chaos Marines coming first.

Yeah a solid release there, spreading the love by several systems. Nothing for me though.

Speaking of Christmas what is on the schedule for that?

So far a gobbo riding a squig - after that no idea. I don't think we've even any rumours of what Christmas sets there might be.

The Khan sculpt was pretty awesome... but I don't plan to collect 30k White Scars

Other than that, the preview had not much for my taste (maybe the Pirate Oger)

The chrismas teaser will most likely be da black Gobbo (the old enemy of the White Dwarf)

Yeah I appreciated this too. My home Internet connection isn't great, and normally during these things you had to refresh one massive article with tons of pictures that also started a second Twitch stream auto-playing. Much easier to just refresh the main page for the specific articles instead.

Is it bad that I'm feeling relieved that there was so few things I want to buy? My GSC desperately need that codex and the new character model is great, but there's literally nothing else in that boxed set I want. Guess I'm waiting for the separate release next year.
There were a few other cool things, but all for games or factions I don't play.

Yeah, glad I stayed in bed for this.
GSC vs Custodes as everyone expected, and we know Tau is probably next...so maybe show the codex cover?

All other stuff unremarkable. The darkoath heads for the most part are dreadful, ugh.

I'm sure some are happy with what's coming (at least it was a nice spread of releases), but quite a big snooze for me.....which is what I was doing during the show anyway, so win/win.

As it turns out, the best Warhammer Day preview all year was on 13 August when the 100 percent accurate leak was posted!!!

Poor reveal again in terms of overall content.

They need to scale back these reveals in terms of the amount they do, as it is just a waste of time to watch the stream.

2x models for 40k and 1x for AoS (there largest game systems) is poor. Also, the emperors tarot thing was a total red herring.

So you want more content but less content at the same time?

I mean sure if you just want the bullet point info its 5 mins; but that's not much of a reveal. Of course they are going to big up their releases, everyone does that. And it sets a mood and a tone and gets you more excited .

Yeah I think this is a stopping gap between now and Christmas to keep you interested and they covered so many systems here. Its no alwayst all about the 2 main ones but even then 40k going to get a new big box so yeah I would not call it poor.

I'd prefer to have less reveals through the year with more content. Quantity and quality within them at the cost of the quantity of them.

The Gencon preview was more substantial than this, and this is meant to be 'Warhammer day'... I get it would never be on the same standard as warhammer fest (another good one for reveals), but this, along with the new year preview can honestly get in the bin in the current format, either reveal a lot, or sack them off... It's not a worthy way to spend an hour or two on the weekend. Luckily, I have learnt my lesson and didn't actually bother to watch the stream, though I'm becoming more and more less inclined to watch such streams in future as too many seem to be of this standard.

I think the thing is its important to note that things like "Warhammer Day" are a date in the book independent of what GW is working on. Especially right now with all the mess of the last 2 years throwing spanners in the works at every turn.

Personally I prefer the way they do it now - sure the reveals aren't as massive ,but we get much more constant trickling news. We are about 3 months or so aware of future releases at any one time and that's a good spot I think. I think holding stuff back and doing fewer bigger releases just means we end up with much longer dead-periods between them where there's nothing new to latch onto. Plus if you get your big reveal and the 1 or 2 things you want are at the end of its release you get more of a feeling of waiting forever for the thing you want.

Sure I love big meaty releases where every moment is a new model, but I temper that against more modest ones that keep things ticking over. Again big releases are fun, but so too is just one or two new models.

Yeah guys, I mean how can you expect Games Workshop to control what is revealed on Warhammer Day?!?!

They are at the absolute mercy of whoever created Warhammer Day, it just appeared one day and now it must be obeyed!

It is pretty unreasonable to expect GW to have a huge reveal on Warhammer Day I totally agree. Even if they say it will be huge. Maybe even especially then.

Pretty indifferent, all told. I'm sure warcry people might be happy if they like either warband, and maybe there are dungeon bowl fans -somewhere,- but the other handful of models aren't much to write home about

GW big reveals are nice.
I go to the community site in the evening to look at new models then pop in at Dakka to read the latest two pages of the events News and Rumor thread to catch up with the outrage and get som chuckles from the clever posters.

I would not call it15-20 minutes wasted most of the time.

Personally think.it is by far their worst preview. No new units for the main two games, repackaged minis for bb. The warcry.box.is.cool, but we already saw the two leaders, so it wasnt a surprise.

And that christmas thing at the end was beyond lame. Are we supposed to be excited for some kind of xmas theme miniature??

I was expecting them to save the show by showing us a few renders for the OW, but alas

This HQ may well end as this character from the BL book https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/11/10/black-library-weekender-2019-the-reveals/ so no new model for SoS is possible.

As opposed to the red gobbo who has already appeared as a christmas mini in the past couple years, and wears red as indicated in the preview?

We're still probably a year away, at least, before we see minis for TOW.
