Yeah, vipoid will point out all 3 of the negatives and not say anything about the 97 positives. Kabalites in boats (of either kind) are not top tier but they are (even on their own) better than all but the newest books, I'd say.

Actually it was a heart felt shout out to players of other factions, for being so patient while this happens.
I've been a big of a Negative Neville in the past and moaned like a bitch when it was Chaos Marines or Slaanesh getting their roll outs.
But I was royally sick of Sisters of Battle. Not only did they get a release that rightly belonged to Imperial Knights, but they also got a friggin Harlequin! Cheeky cows!

As a long time Sisters' player who commonly matches up against a Chaos player... I've felt very bad for the amount of attention GW has heaped upon the army over the past few releases. ESPECIALLY across the table from a Chaos player. Good lord that's a feels bad.
But given the gap between the last time they were acknowledged... kinda makes me feel less bad? I mean, did you play Sisters in 5th edition? Only been waiting like 10 years for something other than sadness.
God lord, I play Sisters and Eldar, I must REALLY hate myself. Ah well, we'll just call it a fascination with "vintage" play, lol!

To be fair, I also think the marine armory is massively bloated. All those fancy little rules attached to the new guns can be either tossed, or move to a special rule on the squad. We don’t need special bespoke rules just because you have a fancy scope or a banana clip. 24” S4 rapid fire. All we need.
Again, keep that level of crunch in KT. Not the company scale game 40k has become.
I might occasionally have odd quirks, but at least I’m mostly internally consistant. (Unlike GW )

I asked about Harlequin weapons elsewhere and received a detailed breakdown of old vs. new.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the new rules either, but the detailed breakdown was enlightening.
There were still some unknown factors, even for the dude who broke it down for me- so I still haven't figured out how I feel.
For the time being, I'm more choked that there's a high probability that Quins will lose their subfaction bling, pivotal role rules and that they won't be getting meaningful bespoke Crusade content as a result of being jammed back into someone else's dex.

If you thought DE was bad... Apparently this codex is even stronger.
I expected that, Eldar have been OP every time they get a new book, sometimes for the entire duration of the book's existence. Hopefully the new quarterly balance passes will prevent Eldar from dominating another entire edition. I will probably switch back to Eldar for tournaments but it's not good for the game for any faction to dominate like that.

I'd like it if they finally finished the Primaris line. The pause to paint was nice but filling out the line so people who go all primaris can have a well-rounded army would also be nice. Automatically Appended Next Post:

You can't say the Primaris line isn't well-rounded at this point.
There are about 38 different Primaris units currently, and those are just the generic ones; not chapter specific stuff.

I'm pretty happy. I really liked everything that was revealed, and I'm content to start with this stuff.
I'd say that I do hope that there will be a second wave (and I bet there will be) at some point with more of the missing aspects, plus some new stuff. I really like the sniper bikers a lot. I'd love to see some kind of Fusion-Firedragon Vyper open-topped transport. Automatically Appended Next Post: Purifying Tempest wrote:Thread starts out about the new Aeldari codex... devolves into SM and Drukhari chatter.
Poor Aeldari I'm just hoping my Aspect Warriors aren't hot garbage anymore. My Biel-tan army would like to say hello without my opponents having to make concessions for me to be able to hang in there.
Everything I've seen so far doesn't lead me to think the sky is falling here. I think its upside is going to be Drukhari, but will probably fall just short of that.
Edit: my biggest concern so far has been that I KNOW people are going to abuse Battle Focus to Move-Shoot-Move shenanigans with Obscuring Terrain - Move .1" to touch it, shoot through it, move .1" to not touch it. Peak frustration.
I know it's unlikely, but If you and I ever meet and play, I will not do this too you. I do not play or model for advantage. Ever! Hey! I hope you guys get a better Archon model, an updated Archon's court, new Grotesque's, a new Haemonculus (The character one), and I think mandrakes? Is that all?

The same reason the Eldar book is (almost) always so good will likely be the same reason why they will remain good and get touched with a silk touch ala Drukhari.
Someone important within the design team loves the army.
