I'm trying my hand at some digital camouflage. I'm using tape and layers of colour and it's working decently enough for me. I've been experimenting with different layering but I'm unsure which is better. this is what I've slapped together so far.

Do you think the guy on the left or the guy on the right looks better?

Also feel free to suggest different colour combinations and if you have any links to painting digital camo I would be happy to see them. Thanks for the help and opinions.

The left looks better in a standard sense (the right sort of resembles a checkerboard), but if you're going for camouflage in an urban environment, it could be cool to go for the right anyway. It provides an interesting implication that blending in while in an industrial area might require your camouflage to look artificial as well.

First off: both look really good.
Second: I choose left, as I personally find the more irregular patches cooler. But I like the seemingly higher ratio of beige spots on the right, so maybe irregular with more beige?

It may just be that the right hand one has the disruptive pattern covering artificial lines, but I do prefer the black as base layer. Looks good and all Berlin Brigade.

I also prefer the one with the black base, but think you could try refining your shades of yellow and grey even further.. they're almost there, but the specific shades/tints come off as too pale/cold IMO

Have you tried a more neutral light grey? It has some blue in it.. have you tried a light grey without blue in it?

Instead of making the light grey a cold tone, I'd maybe experiment with a neutral light grey and add a hint of green to the black/dark grey base colour, to contrast it more vs the yellow

Left is more visually appealing as the right looks too 'busy', but from a camo perspective the right suits better.

I think the left one has done a better job of making the rectangular shapes irregular and overlapping, as opposed to the checkerboard effect on the right.

Left one is better. Easier on the eye.

I'd shoot the one on the right in a heartbeat, so as a camo scheme it fails

Yeah, the Citadel greys all came off rather cool, especially after putting it beside the orange. I'm thinking I should try one of their more light brown colours, like the baneblade brown. Maybe those would look more grey with all those warm tones. Or maybe try searching other paint brands. I also didn't notice while taking the photo, but the black is actually a brown, but it really doesn't show up in this picture. Maybe a richer brown would show up better.

ahh the black is brown? Ok, wouldn't do much to it then just yet.

Keep going! I feel your scheme will look great once you suss out the exact colours. People seem to favour the left model in terms of the actual camo pattern, so that's also a good direction to take the pattern itself into
