Starting to Play around with this theme idea. 6 Pheonix Lords, 6 Aspects, Aiming for 2 squads of each - I don't think it'll QUITE work in 2,000 points. The idea is 6 mini castles with each Phoenix Lord matched with his Aspects but with Swooping Hawks and Dark Reapers each being FA or HS= 4x2 = 8 Elites when you need 9 - or you need to run a third Aspect, either an elite, or 3 Swooping Hawks, or 3 Dark Reapers. And it clocks in at about 2070 without any upgrades.

If I drop the Fire Dragons, keep the other five, just initial upgrades to eat up some points for upgrades I'm not 100% set on. Trade one 3CP Det for a 2CP Aux Support Det for the fifth Phoenix Lord.
I ended up with this:

++ Vanguard Detachment -3CP (Aeldari - Craftworlds) [43 PL, -3CP, 920pts] ++

One Alternate I'm thinking about is dropping (some of) the upgrades (and the Vyper that's little more than a placeholder) and trying to wriggle a Crimson Hunter with Exarch upgrade in.

I would love to see this on the tabletop

Its effectiveness is debatable but really, who cares?

Everything on the table getting a 5++ isn't a bad start. Everything is ObSec, is another step in the right direction. I think it's more effective than you'd think but not really overpowered. I dunno though, being able to ObSec 5 objectives, and shoot/fight and act on them with the split squads or Dire Avenger bespoke rules... Some of it comes down to how many Secondaries you can max easy.

I think as a spectacle it will be awesome, but that 5++ is not getting you very far in this day and age. ObSec is great, but with mass T3 infantry on the board with no transports, you're getting wiped by anyone with indirect fire or anyone with half decent AP on their weapons. You're also super slow without transports. Hate to be that guy, but this list crumbles and can't be Biel-Tan when you can't have relics or the WL trait that makes Biel-Tan actually worth taking.

As you're going MSU, drop the Exarch Powers on the Avengers, Graceful Avoidance on the Banshees, Deadly Ambush on the Scorpions, the powers on the Hawks and Focused Fire on the Dark Reapers. They're all not good enough on MSU squads and they're expensive. Dropping them should see you make some space for another unit, be that for utility or whatever.

I think it would be awesome to see this many Phoenix Lords on the tabletop. That said this seems very CP hungry and while it would be a cool spectacle, your units will be footslogging and vulnerable to small arms fire.

Perhaps two patrols with an Autarch/Farseer and three Phoenix Lords would work better. That way you'll have more CP to use and a Warlord who can take relics and traits.

It is very CP Hungry I think its about a third of your total CP for the game. You're footslogging, but a couple of the units have shortcuts and gimmicks. Stirking Scorpions infiltrate, the Swooping Hawks get to Deep Strike and Redeploy plus some webway shenanigans I think.

Probably better, I was just playing with the concept at start. I would have liked to have the Fire Dragons too but I just ran out of room.
