Hi guys, currently working on a 2,500 points EC list and I came across an idea: sniping vexilia before assaulting enemy units to make it easier to sweep them. I could use seekers, I believe they have precision shots, or a recon squad. But both are kinda expensive, and let's be honest, recon marines with sniper rifles aren't gonna do anything.
According to you, what's the best way to go sniping a few vexilia / sergeants during game ?

Im pretty sure with in the confines of the Emperor's Children, the Seekers are probably your best bet for their S5 AP2 Shredding ammo type.

Seekers have a pretty big edge over Recon snipers here; they're not that much more expensive (155pts for five vs. 125pts for five Recon Marines with sniper rifles), for that they have Scorpius rounds, BS5, and Preferred Enemy against a squad of your choice. You get a 76% chance of landing at least one Precision Shot on your Preferred Enemy that way, which is pretty likely to kill them with 3+ rerolling 1s at AP2 if they're not in good cover. It's not a great option, given that 155pts more melee units would probably make you win combat better anyway, but it's far from terrible.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion, for 155pts at least, it's not worth it. It's too much for too little benefits
Do you have if a vigilator could do the trick ? I don't have the profil in my red book

I want to do a mix of different legions, indeed, but not with my EC unfortunately

The Vigilator has Precision shots, so he can do. But with just 1-2 shots fishing for 6s, it's unlikely.

The Sniper rule's built for massed sniper firing squads, not single snipers, which is a shame because single snipers make more sense. I'm hoping the next edition of the rules gives generic Vigilators something like Exodus' 4+ precision shots just to make using them as snipers viable.

Honestly, im kinda shocked HH does not have rules for assassins, considering there was an entire book on them.
Unless im missing them.

TBH I prefer it without them.
Assassins aren't battlefield units - they're assassins.
