Bit random, just had an email about existing campaign, crusade and accessories content being discontinued:

https://www.games-workshop.com/en-AU/searchResults?N=122619591+3839365788&utm_campaign=GW_11th_March_2022_LCTB_ENG_&utm_source=CUSTOMERS&utm_medium=email&utm_content=&utm_term=

Not sure what this means for some of the supplements/armies of renown included.

Feels like the groundwork for it, but this will leave a lot of people in limbo rules wise unless they come back digitally or something.

Wow, they weren't kidding on the limited seasonal lifespan of the Warzone books.

Did those $60 Charadon/Octarius books even last a year? (I forget which throwaway 'campaign' was first)

Those didn't last long at all.

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

This must be some weird regional thing. Haven't seen it here yet in any case. It will be interesting to see what GW does to address rules availability.

Nah I'm in the UK but the email directed to AU for me, wasn't up yet on UK when I checked.

Bit confused as to why there isn't some kind of context or message because some armies are about to lose a big chunk of rules. If they can't be purchased also makes it debatable if they're game legal.

Some of the FW 30k books have gone as well - I wonder if they're getting rid of existing stock before switching printers (or bringing it in-house).

Seeing new edition is incoming not surprising. GW generally tends to put out old edition rules not on sale shortly before new edition.

Crusade was a non-starter. GW tried it... No one wanted it... They're cancelling it.

The campaign books were bs DLC. Again, GW tried it... No one wanted it... They're cancelling it.

While that might be true for you, for me most of my local stores & clubs are running Crusade campaigns.

I'd say there's plenty of anecdotal evidence to disprove any claim that "no one wanted it".

Crusade is fantastic. My biggest problem is just that the rules and stuff was just so divided between books. I think I bought the first Rust book for Death Guard and Drukhari and then couldn't be bothered with all the extras around it.

The three of you must be accountants or mathematicians since you work in absolutes.

Most players do not care for Crusade. There's enough book keeping and over baring complexity in the game without adding in all of the Crusade nonsense.

And the campaign books are faction DLC more than actual campaign books.

The discontinuation of these books is a very good thing. I hope that someone at GW was listening to all of the complaints surrounding these products and/or sees the trend that very few people are buying these books and will correct course.

The first Octarius book isn't even six months old.

Mmm, so they are. I wonder why GW hasn't sent an email like they did to others. The plot thickens.

Says guy who spoke with absolutbs.

And lol. Crusade is kid's level of hardness. 7 year old has zero issues with it.

Come on, just because you don't like something it doesn't mean it's good it's going away.

Please show all the evidence you have for Crusade being unused by the 40k player base, I'd love to know where you get the notion.

My evidence... GW's website placing the books on 'last chance to buy', a significant indication that they are being discontinued.

Shall I raise my hand or something?
In my gaming group we bought most of the crusade books but nobody owns one of these GT books we couldn't care less about. So now that's my personal experience against yours, I don't think there's a way to make out who's right.

PenitentJake, this thread https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/803902.page, this one too https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/803855.page, the fact the WHW Crusade events sell out when they get run. Of course, you are clearly just talking out your rear, especially considering the childish "no u" reply you just gave. Sad really. Oh well, nothing of value has been lost.
