I know they have the MkIII guys and MK IV guys....didn't they have a boxed set of plastic MkV guys with beakie helmets? I thought they did...because it came out after I spent a ton of time and work converting regular marines to that style.....

No plastic Mk VI only box since RTB01 all those years ago! No current Mk VI plastic box set.

The components to make most of three Mk 6 Marines come in each Tactical box. The tricky bits are the studded and blank pauldrons, of which there is one set per box.

I've made like 20 of them. . .

Here's a few. I was able to get more pauldron sets via ebay, as well as the old school Missile Launchers.

Oh, and those bolters? Those are from the OG Rhino kits.

Oh that's clever!

I used most of my Beakie heads making 30 Assault Marines.

The only Mk VI kit after the First ever Space Marine plastic kit RTB-01 has been a 5 model Forge World Mk VI kit. Also the classic Umbra pattern bolter has been hard to come by, it's either a costly FW resin kit, or buying SoS bits and chopping off the ladyhands..

GW was sadistic about it for decades, only offering plastic bits for a single Mk VI armoured model per one whole plastic kit.

I spent years collecting those single bits from the old kits.. until I bought the FW kit and realized the backpacks were never actually available in plastic after RTB-01 and the metal Marine minis era (Mk VI plastic backpacks came with all the 1st gen metal Space Marines back in the day).

TL;DR - You've had to kitbash & pay through the nose to make "proper" beakies

As others have said, you get a handful of parts with the tac squad. Props to those who built whole squads. I used the bits to modernize some of my old RTB01s. There are only so many squads with ML/F and power first a/o bolter sarges you need on the shelf.

I guess I was thinking of the Tac squad parts.

It's cool. . . but I already have a company's worth of RTB01s to paint up

I'm proably gonna use the heresy set to make a heresy army, I've always wanted to but ordering massive amounts of resin was just a "uuuugh no" for me so.. looking forward to this. if the mk VI's are "scaled up" ala the current CSMs etc I hope we eventually get a new and improved mk III and MK IV kit as well.

if we don't I'm betting there's going to be a pretty robust market for MK IV styled heads for those who don't want "obvious MK VI"

I need to get back to my strip and rebuild project. I’ve got about 50 on the shelf now, but a bunch more waiting to join them.

If the hew HH box manages to hook me, they will form the core of my army. So many guys with bolters, with a smattering of missile launchers and flamers. NuBeakies would probably be used to make all the new fun options that were not possible with the old kit.

I really need to stop thinking about the HH box and what I’d do with it. So many projects, such a Pile of Shame. My wallet is just crying non-stop at this point, and I’m not even done picking up all the Eldar stuff I want. Nostalgia is a heck of a thing.

Only thing I don't like about the NuBeakies are the relatively static poses. It's great for making bolter squads no doubt, but will look too static on assault squads. The old Mk VI plastics from the assault squad & Vanguard Vets kit will no match scale-wise, so a bunch of converting is looking inevitable.

Now then, if GW also releases a Corvus Assault squad kit down the line, that all will become moot.

Nubeakies, brilliant!

I am going to mix mine old with new, add the dynamism, as nowhere does it appear written that marines are all of the same height and proportion, considering also the disfiguring effects of stress and age, injury, enhancements and warp travel, gravity tugging and vacuums expanding, yada, … I will work on basing, armament, and paint to try to provide consistency of appearance where dimensions differ.

also assuming they're the same size as the new CSMs they're not going to be so much bigger thn old marines.

that image actually makes the CSM look bigger but beyond the horns and other "chaos bling" the actual marine isn't really NOTICABLY bigger then a MK III marine
