Hey

I tried playing in the 90s, did a bit in the 00s and enjoyed it. I have dug out my Blood Angels, just invested in some Aeldari and the new Codex.

Keen to play again, finding peeps near by seems tricky but ill keep looking. Have a fair bit to build sand passing yet. Need to learn the rules again.

Just looking for advice and tips really.

Hey bud, I had a similar story, got back into it a couple of years ago. Whereabouts are you? I play at a really friendly club in Leicester that has games every week and tournaments every month, which are sometimes aimed at new players. Good luck and welcome back

Hi, I am in Southam near Lamington Spa so not a million miles away. Are they evening or weekend events I could visit one. I have some old Blood angels and the new Codex for them. I have just started building a Aeldari Ulthwe army as well.

Do you find there are people to play that are patient for newbs to learn at these events?

I am thinking friends can come over and I can get them to play if I have two army's to use. I got some EU gaming Matts and scenery now, I have some serious gluing and painting to get done

Yeah new players are always welcome. If you have read the rules and watched a couple of battle reports you'll be fine. I had one 1000 point warm up before going to a GT and had a blast. I'd say make a simple army list and expect to lose but have fun at your first few games. The club in Leicester is called All Scars. There's a FB page with events and it's every monday night for casual games. Bring your classic Blood Angels, or have a search for a group nearer to you; 40k is popular now that there's bound to be a club nearby.

Tyranids, although 40k rules bloat made me to look for other rulesets where I can use my miniatures. Xenos Rampant coming this year's end is one I am especially looking for to try.

Gone-to-ground in the craters of Coventry

Hi. We play on Saturdays in Coventry, at Dreamdealers. Check the sig for info.
But, other places are closer to you. Daventry seems to spring to mind. I'll see whether I can find any.
