Marines, Other Marines, Dark Elfs and Spiky Knights get a couple more pages of rules. For spiky things, this will possibly be before or during their relevant codex releases, so... that's fun.
War Zone Nachmund: Rift War has all the lore and maps you’ll need to follow the conflict – plus tons of ways to spice up your games. Along with new Armies of Renown and a Codex Supplement, you’ll find a whole campaign system for running a War of Desperation in all modes of play. Using new alliance rules and Campaign Master’s Edicts, you and your friends can fight for control of three brutal War Zones, each with its own special rules and Legendary Mission.
There’s all sorts of narrative content, too – from Crusade rules for the key factions currently duking it out for control of this embattled region.
I don't know what some of those things are, but hopefully the campaign system, alliance rules and edicts are more interesting than previous offerings in the WarZone books. Though 40k alliance rules are generally... simple, to the point that you don't need rules.
This is coming 'very soon.'
Now, when they talked about tyranids and chaos knights last week, the former were 'soon' and the latter 'very soon' and the tyranids pre-order preview went up yesterday. So 'very soon' apparently means 'later' in WarCom speak.

Well, at least this one seems to have a lot of chaos involvement.
Hopefully it's better than the first Nachmund book. Most of these books are a waste of space, but the first Nachmund book felt like the worst one by far.

Will he be allowed to use his spear in close combat this time?
I can't find reference to an accompanying 3 pages of Crusade rules plus a full reprint of the 9th Ed rules Crusade book?
Maybe they're not bothering with those anymore and rolling the meagre content into the main campaign book.
We should be so lucky...

Nobody is going to buy them so I'm sure they won't be around long. Imagine needing a rulebook, nachmund grand tournament book, codex, supplement, white dwarf, and this new book just to have the rules for 1 army. 6 different books to play 1 game with 1 army. I think GW hates trees as much as they hate their customers.

Hold on.
Now, in Rift War, he’s sending Haarken Worldclaimer to seize the Nachmund Gauntlet, cutting off the Imperium Nihilus – and Vigilus itself – from the Emperor’s guiding light.
Didn't Abaddon already do that in the second Vigilus book? I know it's a minimum effort, throwaway DLC book, but maybe they could have at least changed some names when they wrote the same plot for the same place again.

Thirteenth time was the charm for Abaddon on Cadia so he's going to let Haarkon have a good few goes.

I would play it off as a threat.
"Oh you failed to take this planet for me? Cool cool. Hey, I want you to personally see to the conquering of this entire subsector. Don't screw it up like last time lol" *Abaddon pats Haarken on the head*

In light of the new Edition that was just around the corner I can understand Psychic Awakening. It gave a quick and dirty balance pass designed with the new edition half in mind that at least threw a bone to those the codices that would be later in the cycle. As a Guard player The Greater Good has actually seen some use for longer then 6 months. However for some of the early 9th factions it was a pointless exercise that could easily feel like a waste of money if you don't get to game regularly. I'm not sure what the best solution is in this situation, not include all factions and people moan they are being missed out, include all and people complain about rules being invalidated too quickly.
These campaign books seem to have been a big miss-step though. The idea of focusing on one area of war is a good one but the churn is way too high, a new zone every six months or so means no one ever gets to settle in and get to enjoy the rules before they are defunct. They also seem to focus on the wrong factions, if they release a codex then the campaign books focus around the same factions that just got new content. I don't actually think GW intended them to be day-one DLC, I think they were more trying to theme everything together, however it is exactly what they ended up doing and annoying players in the process. I did buy Octarius book 1 last year for the Guard content as it was the only book that contained any Guard rules that year. It wasn't really worth the price just for the limited Guard rules but as it was my one book purchase I was happy for new content. No way would I invest if it was the same year as a Codex.

For AoS, GW seems happy to put rules update supplements to the Battletomes into issues of White Dwarf. They could do the same with 40k, if they didn't know there's a market of people willing to shell out dosh for overpriced hardback versions.

Its a weird article:
Abaddon the Despoiler brought a new level of horror to Vigilus – and may have even slain Marneus Calgar into the bargain – but like any good manager, he prefers not to get bogged down in details
Dunno if 'into the bargain' is a Britishism, but it reads strangely (compared to 'in the bargain'). But the 'maybe killed Calgar' is gibberish. We know he didn't.
Its like the whole Vigilus thing got sucked into the retcon of the Dark Imperium storyline and GW backtracking to the beginning of the Indomitus Crusade rather than its end.

Well, you see, Abaddon tried to cut off Imperium Nihilus from the Emperor's guiding light by seizing Vigilus. He didn't succeed so now he has to send his lieutenant Haarken Worldclaimer to cut off Vigilus from the Emperor's guidling light by seizing the Nachmund Gauntlet. In the next book Haarken Worldclaimer will send his lieutenant to cut off the Nachmund Gauntlet from the Emperor's guiding light, and so on. The last book in the series will focus on random cultist #375,899,034,441 leading an assault on Terra.
