I've been fortunate enough to recover several boxes of my old painted figures from a cupboard in my parents house, it's been odd seeing them again for the first time in 25(?) years

some old favourites, some stuff i have no real memory of owning let alone painting, and far, far more bright colours than i remember (plus team leaf basing, but none of that green paint round the rim as i thought that looked naff even back then)

First up are some of my great halfling horde, scourge of many WFB fights, and bit players in a fair number of WFRP adventures

sharp eyes will spot the final figure is actually a rogue trader RT601 halfling cook (from before ratlings were a thing),

I quite like my painting skills, although they do all suffer from 'crazy eyes'

Those old lead figures have so much character. I have to agree, great paint job from your younger self. Crazy eyes just add even more character as well. If there's more, keep 'em coming!

Good stuff. And way, way better than what I painted 25 years ago. Not that that's hard.

Lovely figs. Very characterful and nicely painted.

My work from 25 years ago is significantly less impressive.

I'll carry on with some of my largest models, must have been a Birthday or Christmas present as these heavy duty war machines were beyond my spending power at the time

before the angry washing machine came this imperial beauty

When Orks were wimps and a few select Goblins were well hard... as well as not afraid to mix colours

and the Eldar had a cool deadnaught too (as well as the war walker but the less said about that the better as it was just as daft as the homage given to the Grey Knights many years later)

i clearly had some sort of basing on these, as i can see the knife cuts i made to get something to stick better, but what it was i can't remember, nor why i took it off

Oh, goodness, you had godlike skills at stripey pants!

Also, I will defend the original War Walker to my grave. The pilot had those little boots with pistons attached to the frame, meaning that he was pumping his legs up and down in the air to make the machine move. Nothing, is more RT than that.

Now showing Wasteland Weirdos for TNT and zombies for Dungeon Saga!

Painting total as of 22 July 2025: 99 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

I approve heartily of both the striped pants and of the snotlings.
