Bit disappointing that the kit doesn't come with the parts to actually assemble a handlers- not so bad for me, my other half managed to find me another copy of the Ash wastes starter set so I have a whole bunch of nomads spare, but if you already have your gang painted up and you only need one spare chap to make use of the head/backpack then you'd need to fork out for another whole gang pack for your one handler.

Or take to eBay where you can just buy an individual model from the kit.

I'll certainly will buy this set (or two), they look great and can also be used for other game systems.

However again, it seems strange they are prepared to have these in plastic but not the characters (ie still in resin).

I know everyone will tell me it is not cost effective to do characters in plastic, but how is it cost effective for a 'special' Nomad release.

You've answered your own question. These are generic enough to be used in other systems, so that'll pick up a few more non-Necromunda purchases.

Yeah, thinking about picking these up for whatever in my nurgle forces, depending on price. There'll hopefully be an STL for additional wings somewhere.

What has happened to the release of Palanite Enforcers and the Ashwing Helamites that were shown off back from early July?

Shouldn't they be out for pre-order by now?

We just got AoS, Kill Team, and 40K, so maybe next sunday will see them announced?

I will be irrationally annoyed if the Helamites don't release within even the most lenient definition of summer when the article introduced them with "Ashwing Helamite summer".

I was also hoping the new stuff emerged before the price increase, but upon further reflection, and iirc, they just pre-emptively include price increases on new release products that come out after a price increase has been announced.

So the announced additions to the Palanite Enforcers are up for preorder this coming Satuday, along with the Helamites:

Am I the only one who is underwhelmed by the weapon upgrades? There are a couple of useful bits there but pretty dull choices overall.

Lack of shotguns surprises me, but then the other Palanite kits seem to have those covered?

It’s definitely a gang noted for more restricted weapon options.

I was hoping the new book would mix things up a bit in terms of weapon options for the Enforcers. If the weapon sprue is anything to go by that might not be the case though.

I'm quite looking forward to expanding my Enforcers gang regardless. I'll wait to read about what's actually in the book before I preorder anything though.

If it is anything like the Space Dorfs kits and book were, the weapon sprue will take care of anything missing from the current list (I haven't looked at what they have/what they need as Enforcers are... a low priority for me at the moment) and the book will have new weapons that don't have options.

Every upgrade sprue has been about 50% disappointment, if you care about min-max efficiency weapons.

Eg. They've all had a flamer, despite it being a terrible gun. Or how they have superfluous 2nd versions of weapons already in the main kit, like the sniper rifle and concussion carbine here.

They went with iconic, gang-themed weapon upgrade kits instead of just giving everybody plasmaguns and heavy bolters or whatever.

Ug. I miss the classic Arbites more and more.

I guess Necromunda is a Forgeworld that cranks out high levels of technology for the Enforcers that puts the Adeptus Arbiters to shame.

The Palanites were notable in that the existing two kits covered everything on their equipment list and as such there was no need for an earlier upgrade kit. (The Corpse Grinders, of the same vintage, got one.) So anything new here (flamer, webber, autogun) is a new (non-TP) option for them.

The concussion carbine is held two-handed while the old one is one-handed, but on the face of it the sniper rifle is weird. I can't see how this adds to what is already on the sprue. Maybe just more flexibility in posing?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
This kit also seems to do a pretty great job with left- and right-handed versions of one-handed weapons.

Love all the new miniature variants.

Also not that keen on the upgrade kit, but like the release overall.

The best sci-fi security/police force minis and these have so many uses. I never got the ones with the shields so those and the new kit with sergeants will pretty much cover all my needs.

I'm not too concerned about maximising loadouts. My bigger concern is the extra weapons that come in the kit already. If you have 2 sniper rifles in a 10 man box do you really need 2 more in the upgrade kit?

Not gonna lie, a heavy weapon would have been nice. If not a heavy bolter then at least a heavy stubber.

At least there's a webber, which is good and relatively thematic. Taking too many of them is not going to win you many friends though. Can't say I'm thrilled about autoguns. Cheaper than an Enforcer shotgun or Enforcer boltgun but still not the sort of thing I would expect an Enforcer to carry.

IMO the repeat weapons are the designers saying, "these are the most appropriate and iconic weapons for this gang, so here are alternate versions of them to give your gang visual variety."

I agree the missing heavy kind of stinks. But one of the sergeants has what might be a heavy stubber?

I actually appreciate the autoweapons a lot. They are both fluffy and adequately strong/efficient in the game.

The Squats upgrade sprue doesn't have shotguns, but those seem to only be an option for the Exo-kyn anyway. Just *why* it's only an option for the Exo-kyn is a different question.

Anyway, for the Enforcers I will be getting the book (eBook), and probably the Champions box and the upgrade sprue. Probably not the Forgeworld models though.
As well as the Ashwing Helamites.

As it was impossible to pose the old snipers as actually aiming (those ridiculous shoulder pads are not conducive to good posing) hopefully this one fixes that problem.

I might buy the Palanites for their dogs. I don't like the Arbites dog as much as these.

I also want some of the flying helamites, because they can be "dogs" for my Vespids.

Silly question, but in the lore are there any Knight Houses found on the planet of Necromunda?

Its just that I like the idea of adding some Nomads to my small collection, as Chaos cultist thralls for 40K. But for Necromunda, I can only think of the Knights - being small Armigers - arriving off world and hooking up with the Nomads...if going into that game.

Is it possible for Nomads to have custom vehicles that aren't giant insects, the size of an Armiger?

I'm not aware of any Knight Houses on Necromunda, I don't think that's a thing. But yeah, some coming from off world could work.

The official rules from Necromunda say that the Ash Waste Nomads can't use vehicles, not even the generic vehicles that all other gangs have access to. I always thought that was a bit silly but those are the official rules.

Nothing mentioned. But. And it’s a proper 40K sized But?

That doesn’t mean they’re not there.

It’s true Necromunda isn’t a Knight World, and so doesn’t have a native Knightly House. But given its importance as a major Hive World and supplier of goods? It’s entirely possible to have a Knightly presence as part of a trade pact.

Perhaps it doubles as a Harsh Environment Training World. Something quite unlike the Knight homeworld, which don’t seem to be as heavily polluted.

It needn’t be a large or otherwise notable Knight Household either. It could be the sort of pact where the Knights only ride at the request of the Noble House, when things are in need of a proper kicking, hence their presence is largely rumour, as their Knight Suits aren’t the sort of thing to leave much in the way of survivors.

Stores are being told by GW to destroy their received sets of the Enforcer Weapons and upgrades kit. Not sure why.

That's a rather extreme thing for GW to do - I wonder what's wrong with them that they'd want kits destroyed and not returned for repacking or something like that.
