The powers that be will not care right up to the point the plot requires them to care!

This is all a ploy to introduce Primarius Marines to Necromunda when the punitive fleet arrives!

Don't be giving them any ideas now... On the other hand, the Imperial Fists were always linked to Necromunda, so some sort of recruitment 'gang' or even Serfs or Scouts in the Underhive could be a thing. There I go...giving them ideas!

Some sort of "Chooser of the Slain"-type character i could see - getting drafted into the chapter aspirants feels more like a end-of-campaign thing to happen to individuals, like the last man standing after a suitably epic finale. Not that todays' gangs would be Astartes material anyway for the most part, they're mostly too weird to qualify...

Spoiler:
Goliaths: genetic weirdos, unsuitable for implants for the most part
Escher: all female, unsuitable in general
Delaque: under various level of psychic contamination, in thrall to possible xenos threats, unsuitable
Orlock: generally suitable in principle
Nomads: generally suitable in principle
Scavvies: mutants, unsuitable
Spyrers: xeno-heretics, unsuitable
Chaos Cults: plain heretics, unsuitable
Genestealer Cults: xeno-contaminated, unsuitable
Enforcers: generally suitable

I don't know who that guy is, but he looks pretty cool. Can anyone tell me what his story is? Is this Helmawr, or a close second?

Everything else looks great, can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Ancient, Pre-Imperium nobility/dictator. Has been hiding out in stasis. The attempted assassination of Lord Helmawr and resulting political fallout presented his opportunity to claim the throne.

No one is quite sure if he’s actually human at this stage.

Don't see why the Imperium would care so long as the tithes keep flowing.

Somebody is paying attention and does have an opinion;

'After millennia of House Helmawr’s rule, Ozostium Aranthus now stands atop Hive Primus, and the resulting disruption of the planetary tithe results in an ultimatum being made by the Imperial Fists – House Helmawr has 100 days to regain control of the planet and eliminate Ozostium.'

So it does now look like GWS are going to produce characters in plastic, unlike what they had been doing with resin characters for Necromunda.

Much better for conversion fodder. Aranthus himself would make a nice base to convert up Khanjar the Sharp!

There seem to be six lots of bodies (leader, axe guy who has a 'loin cloth' piece, guy taking a step forward, guy standing still, guy standing with coat flaring open a little, and crouching guy).

Yes, a strange lot. 4 unique mook poses and 2 unique character poses. Perhaps they fit on a regular sprue if they have fewer options? Most are shown with at least different head options, so chances are still two copies of the sprue per box.

Same! I am really excited to see that. Huge move in the right direction.

Now, how long before GW is tempted to 're-do' all the existing resin Necromundees in plastic?

Not that long it seems:

Resin models updated to plastic with new designs, also introduces a new Hangar-on, the Hive Watcher.

What about Van Saar?

They're basically on eternal life support due to severe radiation poisoning. I suppose they'd be adolescents when recruited so less degraded than most but it's made pretty clear that the Van Saar are about as far from peak physical condition as can be.

BA still recruit from rad-soaked populations, so I imagine that's not too much of a dealbreaker.

True but they're also from relatively primitive warrior tribes who are seemingly 'toughened' by the harshness of their conditions and at least nominally well conditioned enough to have some meet the exceptional standards required for selection. The radiation is necessarily purged but the bodies of those chosen are otherwise highly athletic. Van Saar are physically weak and suffer from widespread muscle wastage and organ failure. They need their suits to survive. I'd argue that they simply wouldn't have a chance of producing candidates that came close to meeting the body standards needed.

They are very nice, but I hope that the resins aren't getting immediately retired. The female rogue doc is a much better fit for my Escher, and I kinda like the old Slopper more too.

That’s another rumour engine solved.

Which means, any recent unsolved could be Necromunda!

EDIT. No, it doesn’t. Silly me.

Rumour?

Its clear that has been happening since they decided to go full plastic with 30K vehicles and infantry. Only a matter of time before they stopped using it for new characters/single modes and new units as well.

There's been no official statement (unsurprising) and while we're still waiting on Angron Transfigured & Lotara, Palanites got some resin figures not too long ago.

Getting monopose hangers on in plastic is wild

From this point on it's probably redundant to ask if a release is plastic or resin

Which ones?

And God damn, I might be critical of the direction the game took, but these models are ace, and in plastic

The ones arguing Hangers On, being a niche within a niche (an entirely accurate summation), we likely wouldn’t see them in plastic.

Not being mean, rude or snarky. Just mildly amused what was a completely logical and accurate statement just suddenly isn’t. In the best possible way.

Oh yes I completely agree. I was pretty sure we would never see hanger ons in plastic (bar some very rare exceptions like the umber hulk automatons). And while I'm as surprised as anybody, i never was so happy to be wrong lol

They’re also pretty solid Generic Dark Sci Fi dudes.

Of them all, I’d say only the Ammo Jack, due to weapon design, is particularly 40K.

Those are some amazing models. I was just tempted to buy some resin Necro models but not at $30+ a pop.

If this box is sensibly priced (GW standards) it looks like a must buy.

I love all of them, they ooze character! I'm just not sure which is the Dome Runner and which is the new guy, I'd guess the Runner now has the long rifle, and the new guy is floaty mecha guts? Either way, fantastically grim-punk aesthetic to them.

Man, I wonder if some of the alliance groups will be coming to us in plastic or if they are just getting smart about the most popular stuff being available at retail.

Thought occurred. I earlier said that outside of the Ammo Jack, these are nicely generic dark sci-fi sculpts, as they’re not festooned with loads of 40K specific details and doohickeys.

Maybe part of the plasticification is to broaden that specific appeal, and so potentially sell to folks who otherwise don’t really play Necromunda or GW games?

I guess Van Saar could work out at least on principle - there's even a campaign hook in it somewhere, have your guys rescue (or kill) one of the dudes that got recruited but knows a bit too much about what actually happens at maison Van Saar before you end up being the hottest item on the Mechanicus' plate since Arkhan Land's monkey bit the dust...

I guess the servitor is the hive watcher, they got a literal looking glass and some sort of seismic recorder thing instead of the usual belly-scroll setup, probably for monitoring hive quakes and such.
