It may be a first but... Everything is fantastic ! Stellar release and not really expected. I'm actually gonna take a look at Underworld and Warcry because I know virtually nothing about those games but the bands have a lot of character and seem exactly like what I like: small groups with strong personality, no need for 2,000 pts armies
Kinda interested to see how they will release the zone mortalis board and if it is going to be available on its own later

What have they said about ZM? I didn't watch it and I don't have time to sift through what people are saying, but anything ZM related is of interest to me.

Nothing specifically about ZM as a ruleset. The new KT season is set on a Space Hulk and the terrain across the fomo boxes will be modular. A lot of people saying the floor files are close to the plastic ZM ones they had for Dark Uprising. Naturally the expectation is a lot of people will use the terrain for ZM games.

That's the thing.
GW probably figure its new enough to get a new price tag .
I remember them putting the Baneblade in a new box and adding quite a few euro to the new one.

I am a bit disappointed that this new Kill Team space Hulk will be GW's half arsed attempt at Space Hulk for a while.
It would be brilliant if Space Hulk were elevated to the title it rightly deserves, a great gateway game that should be in constant supply, with mission books/tile add on, and new Terminator Wargear added. Just keep it simple (2nd edition I think was a the best entry level version to date).
Terminators Vs Genestealers, offers good asymmetrical game play and styles to keep it fresh for a while.
Oh well, maybe not now, but I think GW are leaving easy money on the table.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused. |

As silly as it seems, its not obvious to many (especially newer chaos knight players) that the Knight Despoiler is just an Imperial Knight covered in chaos symbols, many of them go looking for a specific kit called the "Knight Despoiler" and up until the latest codex came up empty and confused and had to ask others where to find the model for it.
The justification for the Questoris Knight kit is a little bit harder to figure out, as the Knight Preceptor kit literally contains the same sprues and builds all the same knights. If I was to guess, i would say they are eliminating the "Knight Preceptor" kit and replacing it with the "Questoris Knight" kit for the purposes of greater clarity for customers who are confused why they can buy a Knight Preceptor kit but can't find a kit for the Errant/Gallant/Warden/Paladin/Crusader and have no idea that Canis Rex is built out of the Preceptor kit.

I imagine that one of this season's Kill Team releases will include a rerelease of the Rogue Trader and Gellerpox Infected kills teams from the previous edition. They seem like very thematically appropriate factions for a battle aboard a space hulk.

While it was and is a good game it's not really that expandable. 1st edition had some tries, and maybe hybrids were a funny addition, but psykers destroyed the core game.
And keep in mind that IMO most people playing GW games don't just want a streamlined Wargame but also RP elements and equipment and weapons properly represented in the rules.

First edition from what I have heard was ruined by the hybrids. Having Terminators being shot at in Space Hulk just took away from the different styles.
I still think that expansions could work for Space Hulk of they were more focused and restraint, add different missions/objectives, and new Wargear for the Terminators. As for the Genestealers I think the air vents introduced in 2nd edition in White Dwarf really helped give the Genestealers something new without diluting their theme.

I don't remember if we house ruled it or if there were White Dwarf rules for including power armoured marines in Spac Hulk.
I think there was a White Dwarf for Traitors?
Adding hybrids/ enemy shooting certainly did change the game, but I wouldn't say it destroyed it.
The psykers though... It wasn't so much just having psykers- it's that the powers were so over the top. A failure of execution.

There were rules for power armoured Marines and a mission Terminators vs Traitor Terminators in WD. Never played the latter, but I had one game against PA Marines. Well, I just butchered them. Just one die for shooting needs special missions with longer corridors.

All piled together into Space Hulk Compendium, another Old Edition book I need to add to my collection.
Power Armour Marines we’re faster than Terminators, and considerably more numerous. But as Dryaktalus said, they were easily minced by Genestealers.
Their main advantage was relative freedom of movement, numerous heavy weapons, and their numbers making them somewhat harder to ambush, especially if the Genestealer player had only low value blips in play.

No. Their market research has shown that they do not want relatable human characters in their setting; it needs to be all power fantasy, all the time.

I don’t see it personally. While the theme fits.
The models are too many for the even Kill Team thing (as Rogue Trader sat almost as a board game itself in how it plays). Number wise and price wise.
It is two (10?) man KT’s at £35 ish each, plus all the plastic scenery etc.
As all the boxes will come together with lots of scenery to build up.
If they did that box it wouldn’t be able to have all that scenery as well or the cost would be even more than the high prices it will be anyway.
In my opinion, of course.
Though I missed Rogue Trader so would like it to happen.
(It’s like that chaos cultist type Kill Team, I couldn’t convince some people on discord that there is no way they’d add the commissar and ogryn in the £36 ten man box. The prices just don’t work for GW prices).
I mean I guess if they just reissue it similarly, so same like cardboard bits etc, but that didn’t feel like what they’ve revealed for going forward..

The Starstriders are just a ten-man team so they fit in the same structure as everything else. Gellarpox are more complicated because it'd be a lot of models (23) and we've not seen that many models in the boxed releases so far, but then again they don't all have to be in play. We got 10 marines in Moroch even though you only field 6, because they were re-using a sprue that had 10 on.
The Gellarpox sprue is the same size as the Intercessor sprue.
Maybe they'll crop up as the "existing" team in two of the boxes.

The majority of the gellerpox models aren't massive though. Glitchlings, nurgle fleas, nurgle worms, nurgle fly swarms, etc.
Then for regular sized models, you have the pseudo-plaguebearers, and a couple of plague hulks.
I'm not sure really what they could do with gellerpox in order to make a bunch of specialist, though. Unless the specialist are mutated versions of various people. "Gellerpox navigator, gellerpox voxman, etc"

Not being very familiar with the Kill Team rules this may be complete nonsense, but couldn't you mash the little guys together as quasi swarms with a few simple rules? Require them to stay in base contact with others of their type, activate as a single models, have health brackets like 40k vehicles or AoS monsters equal to the number of swarm models so you can handily represent the degradation by removing models?
I don't know if this is elegant or viable, but it would seem like a way to make the higher model count of the Gellerpox fit without allowing them an excess of extra activations.

Right, there's a lot of room for low-wound models with a Group Activation greater than 2. They haven't made any units like that yet, IIRC, but there's no obvious reason why they couldn't.
