If my analysis of the rejection was correct, all your friend needed to do was change the Army Faction on his list from Tzeentch to Chaos and resubmit.

Of course, if this is the case, it's a bit of a dick move by the TO/EO to reject the list, rather than accept it with a note that the wrong Faction Keyword was used, and that the OP's friend will need to use CHAOS instead of TZEENTCH for that.

You have never been disqualifed for having a seal on your locker broken by someone else, or being 5 sec late for a match. Events, unless you are the world champs or running on special treatment, often end up like that.

It's also kind of pointless from the TO, if that's the actual reason, since all that's going to happen is they're going to resubmit the list, which will then need to be checked again. If they'd have accepted it as-is with a minor correction that actually changes nothing, it wouldn't have been a problem and would have saved them that effort down the line.
This is also assuming the reason it was rejected was due to the Tzeentch keyword issue. It could still be they simply don't understand that <CHAOS> is a valid keyword for the army.

Rules are rules and competitions are competitions. Try to let go of a pice durning a chess event, and see what happens, if you don't like sports so much. Or what happens if you have a scients event and one team gets it stuff lost, stolen or damaged. I am just giving examples that in events the event orgenisers have the end say, and what ever people like it or not it doesn't matter.
Karol's Lord of the Flies-esque sociopathic post-Soviet sports school upbringing, it's completely irrelevant and basically spam.
It happens at world championship level of events. just type in (sport of your choice) disqualifed for broken, missing seal on their suit etc.
I doubt you have either
I had a guy from my class pulled from an event for missing urine check. He was dyhadrated, because we were late for the event, and he just couldn't do his thing when it was his time for check up. A girl from my school this year was disqualifed from a weight lifting event, because the seal on her urine sample was damage durning transport, by the transport company.

This just isn't believable. ATC is an established event that has been active for years, there's no way they don't know a basic rule of list building that is relevant to a ton of lists and is explicitly stated in the rules.

The whole thread is about a situation that happens within TO right to do something and an event enviroment.
People don't have to like what orgs do. And trust me losing two years of training, and not being able to qualify for euro championships is much bigger, then not being able to play the army you want at a w40k event. But people here act as if the TO or Event orgs personaly slighted them. A TO can decide that you are not allowed to play because he doesn't like you, and he is allowed to do that.
If you decline an opportunity to murder your opponent between rounds and lose a game you failed your team and won't get to eat for a month.
Why would you do that, when you can just lock them up in a toilet and achive the same result, without the risk of going to jail for murder? That would be stupid.

What is your point? You weren't replying to anyone in the thread, so your comment is incredibly vague. Yes, some TOs are gakky, but the community has much more power to tell gakky TOs to go hit the bricks than in these supposed competitions you're talking about. I've actually lived in the former Soviet Union- have you? The sports schools (I only know the acronym ДЮСШ, not sure what they're called in Polish) are every bit as nasty as Karol makes it sound.
Nobody's even remotely implying that all of Poland is like this, so chill. Karol isn't trapped in some post-apocalyptic hellscape, he's trapped in a toxic lifestyle that's so insulated from the real world that he really thinks this is how normal people behave.
It's sad, but it also derails the thread every single time he posts some godawful analogy.

But there's no way they haven't been corrected on it by the time they're making list legality rulings for a major event. "Can I put space marines and imperial guard in a single army" is list building 101 and anyone who is even moderately familiar with competitive play will have seen plenty of instances of CHAOS/IMPERIUM/ELVES being used as the shared keywords between detachments.

Yes. In the US you can go to jail for many strange things. On the flip side you don't go to jail for many you should go, so I guess there is a balance of some sort.
What is your point? You weren't replying to anyone in the thread, so your comment is incredibly vague. Yes, some TOs are gakky, but the community has much more power to tell gakky TOs to go hit the bricks than in these supposed competitions you're talking about.
I think it is stupid for players to be able to influance the decision of event orgenisers, even if the decisions were wrong or disliked. You are opening a can of worms you don't want to open. Because if it works one time, people will push and push trying to do it again. First it is rules, then it is admissions and then you will get a flood "problems" people have with events, people in it, results. People that deal with professional sports know it, and that is why even world champions that get disqualifed because of something fans think is bad, they keep quite and work on their next event. Or at least that was for decades, I ain't going to lie, there are some sports people coming from the US that are trying to change it. But thankfuly it is faced with a strong opposition from both sport organisations and sports people themselfs.
Uh huh sure buddy
What do you want , for me to link article from the last 2-3 olympics, world and euro championships, and what stuff people got DQ for? Becasuse it ranges from broken seals on stuff, "irregulation suits", to being 2 min late to a bout. People who were alumni from my school got qualifications for the olympics, or that is what they thought that happened, someone at the polish olympic committe forgot or "forgot" (because there was dislike between trainers involed) to file in specific paper work. And then the PKOL was telling the people that they are 99,99% going to the olympics. Some people were informed in Tokyo that they are not going to run. That is 2 years of spending of your own money wasted(all gyms and most training facilities were closed because of covid so people had to take loans from banks to pay off the ability to train on their own). And that is one olympic, one country and one sport. What do you think is going world wide, specialy on a lower level like regionals or pre 18th sports, specialy in sports where local organisations go hog wild who can take part in what events.

If people think sports is bad they should look in to stuff like classic dancing. My older sister, which I don't know that well, started dancing at 5. At 13 she has an exam to get in to the school she has been preping since age of 7. Before the exam starts, one of the female teachers comes with a wooden ruler and checks the lenght of the foot to the lenght of the shin. If the proportion is wrong, then the girl will grow to be too tall/big for male partners that are trained at the same school. This means it is a waste of time for the school to train such a girl, so such a girl is just kicked out of the exam, before it even starts. Classic singing schools are just as bad. Make sport or military schools look like playground games.

0.00000001% of games are played at events, why do you act like its 100% of the games.
And other event for other games ( MTG for example) let you appeal a TO/Judge's decision, why isnt it the norm for 40k and we should just accept the decision even if its obviously wrong?
