Buy it now isn't a great way of tracking prices on eBay, try auction and ticking the sold completed filter for a more accurate price.
But yes everything has gone up especially anything from the 90s or earlier. I am on the look out for the original tzeentch flamer demons (not the bird beaked ones) but bar one ridiculous priced sale have seen nothing.
So not only are prices up but some miniatures are becoming scarce or seem to be.

There are groups on FB dedicated to Oldhammer. For a lot of people that made it really easy to get the Warhammer bug back and want to work with the cool models they used to hobby with 20+ years ago. Therefore an increase in the demand and a limited supply.

A good tip for anyone trying to get hold of oldhammer for a collection would be to join some of the FB oldhammer and trading groups. They are generally a pretty friendly bunch and its collectors selling to other collectors so you get much more reasonable prices.
Otherwise yes some of the prices have gone insane. It's not just Warhammer either, I am into retro video game collecting as well and the prices for those have gone through the roof. I think again you have the cost of living crisis (people having to sell for a lot of money to make ends meet) combined with people wanting to collect things from their childhood.

.
This is very true. An item might be listed at a price, and be at that price for months and not sell.

a dramatic increase in eBay fees is the main reason:
eBay use to charge 10%, PayPal took around 3-4%, eBay give out 10% or more codes every week relevant to our products, no online sales tax, Free shipping can be found often.
Now eBay charge 12.35% +35c/transaction, PayPal is no longer in play, it looks good on paper, until you see the bill; that's because eBay purposely advertise their 12.35% in 'small print', in actuality the 12.35% covers the total cost of sale+shipping+TAX, so in the end its more closely to 15-20% depending on the sale. I hardly see any codes that's relevant to our products now days, Free shipping can still be found with large e-stores.

I mean, hasn't this always been a thing? A month after special faction-specific dice leave the store some Ebay clown has em up for five times the price.
Though Old World kits are obscenely expensive now.

I remain surprised that GW doesn't scale up the MTO program a bit and make it a bit more predictable and responsive.
It requires very little staff time, and it would basically print money. GW clearly do feel that MTO is worth it because they do it, so scaling that up to five times its size seems like it would be a win/win.
The lack of doing MTO for some of the FW ranges just seems to be driving people to recasters tbh.

I think the problem with FW stuff is that a lot of the stuff goes out of production when they break/loose that last of the master casts they use to make the moulds for mini production,
so to get those back they either need to do a full resculpt, or a significant repair of a master cast which needs somebody with strong sculpting skills (easy repairs such as glueing bits back on are done as a matter of routine)
so you can have your expensive talent repairing something old that had seen a significant sales drop off, or making something new that (should) sell more
A more general MTO of stuff they do have working moulds for would be ok, but it would need a bunch more staff as they're already running beyond capacity based on how much of the new, desirable stuff is often sold out

GW could make a fortune just printing Diaz Demonettes alone. Considering what they go for on ebay they'd be worth keeping in production.
And yeah FW has been cutting back a LOT. Range Rotation with a clear game plan showing what models are on Range Rotation and when they are coming back up for production - woudl be fantastic.
Heck the Age of Sigmar/Old World is down to 1 model per Grand Alliance (that's 4 models) plus the Gloomspite models (the only ones that EVER got marketed for AoS by the community team and thus likely still sell in good numbers).
Chaos has more but, barring the 1 model (skaven) they are all cross-game models with 40K and 30K
