So it only just occurred to me, but are Custodes Captains the same as or equal to Astartes Captains/Chapter Masters? How many are there? Do we have any info on what they have to accomplish to achieve the rank? Is there a strict limit on the "cadre of leadership"? Are Custodes Captains required to do anything beyond or above standard captains? It feels like SC Valarian is essentially a SGT in charge of a few other Older brothers. His Flag bearer is his senior in age and deeds, but serves him? Is it a ceremonial title? Is Valarian THAT much better a Custodian than all his other peers? Given his thing in the Throne room, I can't say, but he did almost win the Blood games?

Like any wiki it collects info. use the info there but be perpared for things that might be wrong. it's a hell of a lot more accurate then 4chan memes though.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

It references sources, so just as accurate as anything you’ll get from Dakka.

Lexicanum is better because it references properly. So use that.

Lexicanum doesn't have as many pages. And it is also updated slower, so a lot of new Infos might be missed.

And yet it still uses proper referencing so when people ask "Where did you get that info?", you can usually give them an answer.

For example, I can tell you that Shield Captain is a catch-all term for many different ranks within the Custodes' power structure such as Prefect, Lictor, and Tribune. Many Shield Captains will in fact hold multiple overlapping ranks. This piece of information comes from HH Book 7 and Lex even tells me it can be found on page 252 because it has the citations.

Codex Astartes doesn't apply to Custodes, so nope. And even SM often have more than 10 captains, some fleet based chapters have separate captain in charge of the ships, and Blood Ravens canonically had captain of honor guards. Then you have captains being seconded to Deathwatch, and vacancy being filled in meantime because not only is the tour pretty long, but there is a big chance the officer won't return from it for one reason or another.

It is updated slower because not only they properly cite their sources, they also attempt to purge fanfiction. Lots of Space Marine chapters on fandom wiki have fan art that completely contradicts official pictures, not to mention speculation and stuff drawn from fan-written backgrounds of fan-made companies. I wouldn't use it as a source unless you have really good idea what is canon and what pure invention, but if you do, you don't really need it...
