I'm almost done with my 2500 plus-ish Thousand Sons. My most recent is finally finishing my Sekhmet, because I just got tired of painting terminators. I've also been playing with weathering pigments.
Also as a bonus here's the first tac squad I painted for them. The idea with this Battalion is that they paint plates of their armor black in mourning for Prospero.

I finished up the last of my Sons of Horus infantry. I have no plans on getting anymore until GW releases more in plastic. Which I'm still holding out for something Dispoiler-y. I have 6 in non-MKVI armor to mix in, but I'm going to want a few more before I can actually run a squad of Dispoilers.
Chaplain
Spoiler:
I envision my traitor chaplains being a little further along on the path of damnation. As such, I wanted to make mine a little fancier with a velvet-like lined cape and a larger mix of black on his armor than most of my Sons of Horus.
Praetor in Terminator armor
Spoiler:
I'm not very good at kitbashing, and this model was a PITA about it. The top knot gave me no clearance for head turning, and I couldn't quite get the paragon maul [blade] to fit. It looks much worse up close and at the angle the photo is taken compared to the typical table angle the model will mostly be seen from.
Veterans with Banestrike Bolters and Chainswords + Volkite Culverin Heavy Support Squad
Spoiler:
I feel like I'm one of the few people that like how the chain bayonets look. And I like adding them to models that already have a melee weapon to indicate they have a banestrike bolter. So, that's what I did here with my Veterans. I tried to give them all the gold trim pauldrons on the right side but ran out. So, to further indicate they are vets, I also painted that pauldron red. Now, I just need to decide if I go with the gold Eye of Horus transfer or the marking under them on the sheet. I think that mark indicates they are Cthonian.
The other squad is my Volkite Culverin squad. I like to use dark red between the ridges and bright red on the ridges for my volkite. I think I saw it on someone's model and just followed suit.
Lascannon Heavy Support Squad
Spoiler:
These models picture was taken just before I applied a wash. Which is before basing is done in my process. I try to give all my vexillas different colors, but I'm quickly running out of basic colors and will have to do various different shades in the future.
Now all I have is my ranged Leviathan Dread and the tanks to finish up, and the entirety of my Sons of Horus are painted. But I want to take a break from that to work on some 40k models still in my backlog.

I like the praetor especially with the overly large "bonk-Stick".
Also army shots are always nice!

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units." Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?" Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?" GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!" Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Thank you very much. I feel like I'm going to have to go back and work on the Praetor paint job a little more some day. However, it felt like every step of the way that model was fighting me. I just wanted to be able to call it done and move on. I do like that the model has a sort of blasé attitude, not bothering to look where he is aiming and leaning his weapon on his shoulder.

Sometimes it's just like that. However to cheer you up a bit. Black with depth is something that is not fun (same with withe). It's therefore pretty horrific when all your interesting terminators are black or white

So I'm making a Rylanor for my 3rd legion, using the normal dread body cause I already have the EC one as a regular dread.
Besides a lot of battle damage what modeling do you think I could use to make him stand out as Rylanor? There's not much in the way of official artwork regarding him sadly.

From the little I know, maybe add some loyalist-style details, like wings on the shoulder armour?

Just in the process of converting the plastic Praetor with power sword to a 1st Legion Praetor to lead my main Dark Angels army.
Helmet and left pauldron sourced from eBay
Been working on a more chaosy, surgical augment themed Phoenix Terminators. Shooting for jagged whip weilding to represent the spears with some speakers grafted into their armour. Do you reckon the ones on the left or right look better?

Finished putting paint to the majority of my infantry. I wont claim to be super happy with the results, it's far from my best work ever and there is plenty of details missed, but haste was needed over quality on this occasion as I'm taking all these guys to an event this weekend.
I'll most likely repaint them when I have the time and energy.

I quite like these models. The muted colours and dusty finish are quite natural looking, without being dull, and the army has a very unified appearance. All they need is some more detail picked out.

Thanks! I can't make head or nor tail of what's going on on those pages, so I am indeed forced too assume it's something very Dark Mechanicumish.

Thank you, that was pretty much the effect I was going for! Nothing grandiose like some of the other Legions would be inclined towards.
A few details I missed in my haste (some optics and a few of the markings on the apothecaries.) But things like the apothecaries vials and and suchlike were a deliberate omission as they required more time then I had on hand. The lack of decals is also rather stark and dramatically adds to their unfinishedness. But good luck trying to source a sheet of the GW decals at the moment. Rarer then hens teeth.

Looking good! That praetor seems a popular choice for 1st Legion players.

Baby second in command magos / and a castellan demothballed for "experiments" count as castellax.
Spoiler:
I do have a question, if one looks at the decimator one can see a whole slew of cables, probably a most common and eerie mark of dark mechanicum constructs. If we asume that the decimator got into prototype phase to counter leviathans and other dreadnoughts we could assume that we should see probably experiments on the older bot chassis.
Which brings me to my Wip Kastellan bot, how would you start cableing it up propperly?
Anyways as an aside: It's quite astounding to me how GW managed to show the technological devolution of the mechanicus in 40k (castellax most common bot in the HH era, whilest the Kastelan is a mothballed type) and yet spit into that theme with the other imperial factions, namely primaris vehicles.

putting my last finishing touches on Rogal Dorn, I was terrified of putting him together as I've not worked a lot with resin but this was pretty painless

Maybe remove some armour plates and put some visible cabling in the space underneath? And have a big bundle of cables on the back instead of the power plant thingy (as if it’s been hot-wired).

Not sure what you mean. But I do think the aesthetics somewhat contradict the fluff. If the fluff was applied strictly (i.e. technology has been lost or has ossified), advanced looking vehicles like Repulsors would be standard in the Heresy, but in the 40th millennium they’d be using more archaic looking designs like Proteus Land Raiders.
