GW moved to HH2.0 before giving me "The Schism on Mars" campaign book.

If anyone has the know-how for making a template for something which matches the original HH rulebook unit entries etc you will have my undivided attention..

Today’s effort. First 20 Taccies drybrushed.

Would’ve done more, but Friday Night Is Pub Night, This Is What They Say. We Are Going To Drink Some Beer We’ve Waited All Day.

Also made a purchase of some silver metallics.

Made some good progress converting the Necromunda Tauros for my Solar Auxilia:


Swapped the crew, changed turret weapons for multilasers, and added hunter killer missiles (required on a Tauros imo)



Gonna try and add some more gribblies/cabling to secure the multilasers on the turret a bit better, and maybe find something to replace the turret shield the domes with the kit, as it’s (a) too big, and (b) looks too palatine enforcer coded for the auxilia imo. Maybe an eye of Horus symbol, as I already use one to cover up the bodge I did with the controls for the driver…

For speed painting Dark Angels, Grim Black by Army Painter is pretty great!

Make it look like I’ve actually put like, effort, into it.

I’ve over-achieved today. All 60 Tactical Marines done to Speed Paint Stage.

Tomorrow I do the metallics, then the red.

I think tomorrow when all my tasks are done. I'll sit down and get a Land Raider I bought put together. My Crusader's need a ride.

Was gonna spend all day on these again, but have been roped in to helping get the signage up in a friend’s FLGS (Upgrade Gaming Dove, powered by XPG).

I’m a spare pair of hands, so hopefully I won’t be doing much.

Either way, will ensure I get more progress done this evening. Depending how fed up I get picking out the shoulder pad studs, still aiming to get all 60 to the same level.

Don’t suppose anyone can point me to an STL `for passable Plasma Burners?

I fancy kitbashing me some Interemptors. Heads and Shoulder pads I can get from GW. Just need the Plasma Burners to for the new MkIII.

If push comes to shove I’ll just use the basic Plasma Guns, as the extra fancy bits and resulting More Fancy Paintjob will let them stand out suitably.

Dark Angels.

First squad done to tabletop standard. Red to receive a brighter topcoat once these have dried.

Quite impressed with myself, as I was aiming for 5 a day, and, on and off breaking it down, I’ve hit that. Gives me an idea of how long the 120 infantry will take me.

Alright you got me questioning my non-use of metallics for my Dark Angels. I just used grey for most of the "traditionally" metallic armor bits.
Still used metallics on the bolters.
Also good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't paint the bolters red. I was never a huge fan of that look.

I was tempted to go with red Bolters, but as you can see went with red shoulder pads to add the visual interest.

You really should do a bit of battle damage Mad doc, that is about the only suggestion if you want some more visual Interest going.

Last night and early this morning, finished the TTS on the Legion Tactical squads.

Now on to the Support and Heavy squads.

Also giving serious thought to perhaps selling off my excess infantry. Maybe just the Mk3.

I managed to get my destroyers built and one squad done in the last couple days, found a quick and easy black armour for my Dark Angels meaning I can just smash out the models quickly.

Support and Heavy Volkite squads done in black.

Tomorrow I’ll do the metallics on one, possibly both squads. Looking to have them to a tabletop finish by the end of Wednesday. Then I think I’ll do the Meltagun and Lascannon squads, just leaving Autocannon and Missile Launchers before I’ve finished all my infantry.

From there? Probably a brace of Contemptors. Because I do love and adored my Dreadnoughts.

Nearly finished building my Deathsworn squad. Here they are with their Speaker of the Dead. It may not be apparent, but modifying the Mk III arms to hold melee weapons is a lot of work…

I did finish my tanks, onto my lerna, praetor and Alpharius.

Got two more Assault Marines to build. And checking the army list? They can have Power Weapons.

Guess it’s a trip to the bitz box!

Give them some nice Dark Angels power swords. There are several good ones available in plastic.

Having thought the Deathsworn would be my last Heresy Space Wolves, I started building a command squad for my Praetor using the new Assault Marines.

Nah. They’ll have Power Swords from the MkVI kit, and they’ll be glad about it.

Genuinely looking forward to the cabinet being stuffed with fully painted models. Which may be sooner than I give myself credit for.

I can recommend a display cabinet enough, if your abode has the space. I’ve found it encourages my pace of painting, as I can readily see the fruits of my brush related labours.

You are working fast!

I got a super fast method for DG down but there's always more pressing stuff to paint, I seem to be jumping from event to event lately. Gotta grind out 300 extra points of Dwarfs for a tourney now, and I'm working on a Starblazers fleet for a con.

Had to take a break from my Militia and paint two random Goblin models before I curled into a ball and cried.
God I love my horde of mooks but painting them is such suffering.
