Spray box is the next stop. Also got a pair of Krios to build. Think I might make them Venator. There’s just something I love about that weird, stubby cannon.

Bulk building a quartet of triaros and karaknos hulls, then about to start 7 dracosians. Also just built a bunch of resin characters- cables on the Iron Hand praetor are a pain, and FW needs to do some new techmarines like they did the apothecaries.

Impressive, Mad Doc. Can I send you all my Mechanicus stuff to assemble? I love the look of the models, but dread the prospect of assembling them all!

I am ordering a couple of Krios. I prefer the lightning cannon to the stubby Venator gun - it looks more arcane (maybe because it bears a passing resemblance to something built by Skaven).

And in other news, I have finished building 2 Rogue Trader-era Rhinos and a Predator (updated somewhat but still very recognisably old skool), and am ploughing through assembling 30 or so RTB01 beakies to go with them. Strange how familiar these models are from when I assembled my first ones over 30 years ago - right down to carving out the missing undercuts on the legs.

They’re genuinely fun kits to build. If you’ve got Thallaxi and Ursarax in your pile, I can offer tips to make the fiddly bits less fiddly.

For instance, the jet nozzles on the legs? Put them on when you’re building the legs, not when the instructions say.

Do let the legs fully dry too, before attaching the torso. Wasn’t a problem for me, but better safe than sorry.

Just finished my boys, but I went a bit too hard on the powders. You can't even see the drybrush on the bases!

Maybe you lost some highlights, but the end result looks very natural. I quite like the light shade of blue you used as well. Good job!

Finally finished the last dracosans scales.... now it's only red, shade, Stubber.

Cheers! It's just Aethermatic Blue with some thinned white lightning bolts over it!

It's 2500 pts in total now, but not quite legal as a single list, I have 1 too many HQs and 1 too few compulsory Troop slot units.

Will rectify soon with those 20 Breachers. Then I still have 10 Recons with shotguns, Grave Wardens, vanilla Cataphractii, and a Kratos to do at the very minimum.

Then will come time to decide if I want to just grow Death Guard ad infinitum or move to another legion - I love variety, but I don't love the idea of painting the same vanilla units again for a second army.

With things settling down for the time being, will crack on with painting my Mechanicum over the long weekend.

I expanded my Mechanicum.. another battleforce , the heavy support box and another primaris magos.

Time to get converting soon.

So, obviously we're in the "wait and see" phase of a new edition now. Not just what will be good but what will be legal. An edition change is always a good spot to purge options that aren't in the current plastic kits...

Still, I at least threw base texture on the 20 Breachers and 10 shotgun Recons

Basecoated the 20 Breachers and 10 shotgun Recce

Going on vacation for two weeks and I'm taking these with me to work on.

The FLGS Memorial Day weekend sale got me into Mechanicum.

I picked up the Mechanicum Battle Group there, then the Heavy Support Box from Ebay.
Planning to get at least one box of Ursurax and a Thanatar Cavas later.
I already had the Archmagos, but hopefully plastic Myrmidons are on the horizon.

Triaros is Assembled now, ready for priming.
Working on assembling the Castellax now.
I guess I am going in descending order of size within that box.
