I think Mad Doc gets a pass, considering how cool this one is. Besides, he'll likely be building it as soon as it's released.
I bought the Fellblade because I couldn't imagine a Titan-killer having much use in the game, but this model is so nice it would be worth getting just as a display piece.

I mean, I am kinda working on it. Working on the financial side of when I’ll be able to get it, especially if it’s release same time as the Whirlwind and Glaive. Also considering another set of DA Doors. And when I’d put it into my hobby schedule. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also which sponsons I’d want.
The Laser Destroyer array feels like a mis-match due to its far shorter range. For something I’d hope to largely park up with a threatening field of vision? Quad-Lascannons seem better, or Quad Heavy Bolters for blasting up infantry.
Which of course frees up the Laser Destroyer to go on a second Spartan…

Something I have been meaning to get round to every since the new edition came out - a Knight Household for the Heresy-era!
After a lot of humming and harring over the transfer sheets (no way am I freehanding a Knight's heraldry...), I finally settled on House Makabius.
Got some speedpainting techniques down pat for Imperial Knights, and this stompy boy took perhaps a little less than three hours to do.

I couldn't get a good pose on him on my fallen tree base, so I am saving it for later. In the meantime, Exodus is going onto the broken pipe instead.

Okay, I just bought in to Horus Heresy... and 40k with the sane preorder.
When I get my models, hopefully I can get some advice on how to build them.

Time to start the next unit with Exodus done (he's over in my AL thread). This is how my units start their existence. Each model is clipped from the sprue into a separate pile, with all parts assigned (including any conversion parts I intend to use). Then I go through each pile one by one and clean off the mould lines and sprue gates. It takes hours, but it's worth it as few things drive me more mad than seeing an overlooked mould line on a model I've painted. In this case, a meltagun squad. Just eight guys, as they will sit in an Explorator, and in most editions it can only carry eight. The two remaining guys I have other plans for (MKII pose 1 is uniquely well suited for swapping in old Space Marine bodies, so they are excellent conversion candidates).

I sort of do this, when I have a clear idea of what a squad will look like. I tried to ensure that I don't duplicate combinations of bodies and arms. But I don't normally finish the assembly process quickly enough - then the cat takes a walk across the table and swishes everything with her tail, bits from other projects get mixed in, and after one too many glasses of red I forget why everything was supposed to be in neat piles and sweep it all into a plastic bag. This is what's happened with my new Ultramarines Cataphractii Terminators.

I do all the bodies first. Like, all 40 from a starter, clip all the copies of 1 pose, clean and build, then the next pose. I end up with a pile of bodies I can just grab whenever I feel like making a unit. Downside is in the mid term I need to store the built bodies and the part-used sprues, taking up double space.

Oh good grief, my condolences. My hobby station is down in the cellar with a door that can be locked. If someone messed with my stuff I think I'd flip my lid.
And yeah, that is how I max variety on tacticals. My first 5 tacticals were built with the instructions as template. The other 5 which accompanied them had their arms and boltguns shifted one pile to the right (with the rightmost pile's going to the far left).
Then, from the 26th tactical onwards (which is where you'd get repeats), it's just shuffling arm/boltgun packs around randomly.

Yesterday I finished off all my unpainted LI stuff. Which is glorious.
Whilst I’ll need to get the third cabinet painted before I can display them? For now I’m moving on to my 32mm Heresy again.
Got a fair amount needs doing, including a load of infantry of various types. And I want to be a good boy, by doing at least one Infantry squadron before I do something chunky, like a Dreadnought or a Tank or a Super Heavy etc.
Infantry options right now are….
1. 20 MkII Breachers
2. 20 MkIII Inductii (Dark Angels, so Volkite Chargers)
3. 2 x 10 MkVI Tactical Support (probs Flamer and Rotor Cannon for those Status effects)
4. A bunch of MkII Disintegrator Veterans.
Plus who knows what else, but those are the ones I’m most keen on.
Anyone want to see one squad before another?
