So how do you reckon Farsight will interact with this new plotline? His sword is the obvious link, but could there be something deeper going on? With Vashtorr being a major player, dark technology seems to be a central theme. Do you think Farsight Enclaves could be somehow corrupted or misled by a promising "new" kind of tech or gear, not realizing its darker nature?

It is of course possible that he meets a totally new source of technological corruption, but on the other hand it would be better to fire one of the dozens of Chekov's guns that accumulated over time and actually do something with the blade. Having farsight be corrupted by two totally unrelated things at the same time would border on parody

Fair enough, it should not be entirely unrelated of course

Thing is I can't see Farsight suddenly becoming super evil, so I pictured the sword as double-edged - largely influenced by chaos but also tempered by the Eldar of the past to keep it in check. Tau being vaguely connected to Eldar is a thought I do enjoy, as it hints at social or biological engineering of Tau as a long-term project against chaos. Seeing that angle played out in this new context could be nice.

Who even knows anymore There are way too many 'doomswords' in this setting, i personally always liked the hints in the necron direction more than the ones pointing to chaos, it's not as overdone as the evil chaos artifact trope and nicely shows that there are other sources of personal corruption than the ruinous powers. But the Dawn Blade has been many things over the years, who knows which version they're gonna use this time.

I might also point out that the Tau empire is awfully close to the rift and suffering from a death guard invasion. It could be that Farsight see some form of opportunity amongst all this upheaval. Maybe he'll take this opportunity to expand their territory. Perhaps even take a more aggressive stance against the greater Tau empire.

Or, whatever dark secret about the Ethereal Caste he learned is nothing compared to the survival of his entire species, and so he rejoins the fold, at least for the moment?

Think a Yriel coming to Iyanden’s rescue.

He has done that several times already IIRC - also didn't the Death Guard fleet threatening them get destroyed in the warp?

Now that they are ruled by a hologram be cool if the AI's became more and more powerful - not neccesaryly evil but deciding the course.....

A, As little as possible.
B, Getting killed, very messily - unfortunately, what looks to be a new model means this is less likely.

Well he could be downloaded into a suit - so he is dead but he's a new model?

Maybe Farsight will interact with the plotline the way the Necrons interacted with the Psychic Awakening plot - ie. not at all; but this is super important guys really. Friendship Belief is magic now!
