I wish they make AoS models compatible with Warcry similar to Kill Team and 40k. I have no interest in buying Warcry models which can’t be used in AoS. At the same time AoS is too much for me to acquire and paint within a reasonable time. Hence I probably won’t play it. Does anyone else feel the same?

I'm not sure what you're asking - Warcry warbands already have AoS rules, and you can use normal AoS faction models in Warcry...

As said, Warcry models already are AOS compatible.
WD articles lists, and the AoS app, appear to list some warcry bands for use in AoS, as they do with WH Underworlds.
Also, rule-of-cool lets you proxy nice-looking Warcy models in other games
If you mean that you cannot make a AoS list just using Warcry models, that is probably true. There are not enough Warcry models of a particular faction to make an army of.
Necromunda has slightly different scale models to 40k, but they do fit in sometimes. But Warcry models are plastic, not Forgeworld or classed as Speciality Games.

Balance bit off(generally warcry specific warbands inferior to regular ones in warcry) but yeah you can absolutely use regular models in warcry and warcry units in AOS...
Of course power level varies but that's typical for GW anyway. If you want to use most powerful stuff all the time prepare to buy new units all the time

I'm really puzzled by this. Pretty much every AoS model that isn't a behemoth (and a few that are!) have warcry rules, and all of the warcry models have AoS rules.

amazingly, you can. All (oir nearly all) of the chaos bespoke warbands have rules for Slaves to Darkness. they're mostly core too, and are generally variations on the theme of Marauders. At least two fo the bigger warcry allies (the Centaurion marshall and maybe the Ogroid Myrmidon) can be fielded as heros for Slaves to Darkness, so you can build a legal AOS army with only warcry models. Really, you'd probably want to add a few characters, but as I"m collecting my warcry I lowkey want to field the world's dumbest AOS army.

For me, Warcry is the ultimate GW beer and pretzels game. It's breezy and quick, and since you can play mulitple games in the time it would take to play one game of AOS or 40k, a little imbalance doesn't bum me out.
If you're looking to play it competitively, there's some pretty good material out there, and yes, the best warbands are usually AOS, not bespoke.

Anyone care to elaborate on the current balance situation with Warcry 2nd ed? I would be very interested to hear people's opinions.

General rule of thumb is only match bespoke warbands against each other and battle the AOS specific ones against each other.

Teh conventional wisdom remains that generally, you can build a stronger warband out of the AOS lists than the bespoke warbands, although unless both players are quite good, the gap isn't huge.
Some warbands are either flat out bad, or have such a massive learning curve that they seem bad, notably Cypher Lords or Hunters of Haunchi. On the flip side, very slow elite warbands, while they can kick ass in kill missions, might struggle with board control. Of course, stormcast have some tech to get around their speed.
Monsters were pretty OP, but they all got price increases in a recent errata, so they're not really a big factor anymore.

I have found so much of that lies in being more easily able to cherry pick and spam the best models from AoS-port bands; if they run in the style of one-of-everything that bespoke bands come with the two tend to be comparable. Similarly bespoke bands pick up noticeably in power by taking multiples of the best units and ignoring the weaker ones. Can you say how much the imbalance extends beyond that factor? Interesting. What warbands would you consider bad, specifically?
