How new is that pic though?

A year old at least.

I think all the LI miniature-based art uses HH-scale miniatures (maybe except for some titans), so it's probably a good idea not to extrapolate too much.

Although I also find it pretty likely that Skitarii of some kind will come to LI at some point.

I saw someone in an AoS chat stream claim that his local shop told him Legions Imperialis has gone direct order only.

Anyone heard anything like that?

Untrue. At least not in the UK.

GW stores only carry a sliver of the range. So…if that’s where you normally get your plastic crack? Kinda true.

But the web store doesn’t show stuff as Direct Only. So, whilst GW stores don’t carry much, seems it’s fully available for any FLGS to carry, and thus offer discounts on.

There's always some fantastic off-brand suppliers.

Any Rumours about future releases?

This Front seems to be very silent atm.

Nothing as yet. Should be due something soon I reckon, as releases tend to be quarterly.

AoS, 30K and 40K tend to get the lions share of rumours - pure specialist games tend to be a lot quieter.

That said I'd hope we get some news soon - be great to see some plastic titan upgrade parts for the resin weapons that have been lost over the last few months; or some new infantry/vehicle packs for the core factions already in the game.

My one worry is that GW management are playing a game of curtail the 3rd parties by not releasing designs too much for one game (LI) if they aren't already in or close to release for the other (30K). Or some other internal thing that just slows them down as they try to mirror them across both games.

Which is to the detriment of LI because its a game that should, in theory, expand much faster. A single standard sprue of infantry can do a bunch of different infantry and smaller units very quickly and even a lot of tanks should be coming out fairly easily.

It would also be great to see more middle and larger things that just don't make it into 30K because of their size. Mechanicum should have super-heavy support platform tanks rolling around and so forth.

With 40K hogging the spot light I doubt we would hear much for other games, for the moment. Once 40K is out of the way we'll likely see the focus shift to Legions, with a new boxed game, Custodes, Titans and Knights.

It's gonna be friggin sweet, man.

Word. I wish Armageddon released already, the other game systems want their spotlight

Has anyone made any Terrain projects for legions? I'm looking for more inspirational things that I could possibly 3d print for my table. I've recently bought some stl files from Lumos Miniatures terrain, my goal is to print a massive board for legions, roughly 4'x12' size, their details are absolutely amazing.

Thanks Malika, those terrain pieces are very cool, I thought I replied your private message, but maybe i've had too many beers..also what are peoples thoughts about light armour units for solar auxilia, they've had option for that since the launch, but yet have'nt received a model for that yet. My guess would be Salamander scout tank, but that would imply introduction of chimera chassis into the game.

Still waiting for the return of the Carnodon strike tank in either scale.

Kratos Battlecannon is -4 AP! Dunno if that’s new new.

It isn't, its just clarifying a formatting error in the book to say the short range shot is -4ap not both profiles.

Is still funny!

The most significant change I've found is they've changed deep strike to ignore all other models now (not just enemy models). Less risky to drop things with short range firepower like the new Saturnine terminator formation.
Landing on buildings still destroys the unit though.

I wonder, if with the release of the rescaled 28mm Mk4 Marines, if we maybe will see them also in 8mm for early Heresy Istvaan Campaign Expansions.

FWIW, in the recent HH social media posts people have asked in the comments section about the lack of LI releases. The official response was "they have stuff on the horizon".

Cue a few more pages speculating on plastic armigers & aurox!

40K v251 or whatever edition has likely had an internal moratorium - no releases or annoucements until it's out. Keen to see what's next. I've started my third legion already and clearing backlogs!

There's really not much point trying to do lots of different marine marks in LI scale. Same as there isn't much worth in doing lots of different marine subfaction models for infantry. The scale is just too tiny for it to matter. Most people are not going to worry that 1 or 2 pixels on their marine infantry are different from another pack of marine infantry.

Custodes are about the only ones that I expect to see get their own LI release and even then that's partly because they use spear based weapons which would stand out.

True, but it does add a peculiar extra value to a hypothetical different infantry box.

Will we see that? Probably not, for the reasons you gave. But it would be nice if it happened, and arguably offer a new appeal.

Especially if we get new options like Lascannons, Meltas, Flamers, Autocannons, that kind of thing. Variations and choice would be nice in infantry flexibility.
