You're really getting some good prints with that 0.4 nozzle you must be really good at fine tuning those settings.

Dread looks great!
My experience with a filament printer just got me results that were not up to spec for mini scale details. The layer lines were just not good, resolution not there. But I might not have been using the right settings/hardware. I should get back to playing around with it…

Nice job finishing up the Dread and his Armoury of arm! He looks great. Also impressive on the prints, I never got mine dialled in enough for minis

Well, at least Emperor's Children had fun getting theirs.

I've been printing for about 9 months, I think; it's definitely a learning process. There are some things nobody tells you, like printing an object leaning backwards at 45 degrees prints better than fully horizontal. A Lot of random things to learn and I'm sure I only know a very small fraction right now.

The type of mini is important, I think. Something with rounded details like an ork prints better than one with sharp details like a robot.

I know it’s a “me” thing, but it seems odd to see phobos marines in company colors. Just because I’ve exiled mine to the 10th company does not mean they are not battleline alternatives for every other marine player.
Looking sharp!

I'm never really sure what to do with mixed squads as far as markings. If you have a dreadnought in the 3rd company, do you put a 1st company or 3rd company roundel on it.
Totally-Not-Typhus is painted up. These are my test colors for my Death Guard. I'm thinking miasma should be green or purple and since Death Guard has so much green already, that leaves me with purple miasma. I also want more color on the bases, so I will be using those florescent alien plants with a dark brown swampy basing for a Garden of Nurgle look. Well, at least how I visualize the Garden of Nurgle as a riot of decay and growth. Well, this may be it for posts for a while as I get things painted up. Bye for now.

As far as I know, dreads are company level assets, so should always get markings to match what co they are with. The marine piloting/interred might have served in the 1st, but if they are fighting along side the 3rd, it should be red highlights and threes all around. IMHO, the lore fluff is a moving target. Vehicles are mostly chapter level assets, so have different rules, but the ones assigned to companies (like dreads and dedicated transports) can be odd.
The purple does look nice. I agree that the base could be a bit more colorful. Would contrast nicely with the drab green and bone of the marines. Maybe get some mushroom/fungi to scatter around? I generally think of Nurgle being wet, so the dry crackle base seems a little disconnected. A fun thing to do would be to focus the plants on the back half and around the feet of the minis. Like they are marching across a dry desolate lifeless plane, and leaving fecund vibrancy in their wake. Not as obvious for the small stuff, but would be more visible on larger bases. You could also play with water effects to highlight the difference.

Yeah, I used the crackled base because it was the only 50mm base I had. I also have recessed bases for water effects I'm considering using. This is what the other bases will be cover with along with some 3D printed plants and fluorescent tuffs. I'm using smaller versions of some the 3D garden plants I painted up on page 13.

Loving the not Typhus, he looks properly legit. The purple miasma works well too, personally I’d like to see it pop and glow a bit more to contrast the drab armour! Nevs idea of the dry bases becoming fecund and life filled as the Death Guard pass by. The plants look amazing in the last post too!
