Hello! I picked up a land speeder storm this weekend and primarily intend to use it for sniper scouts. However, the model has scouts with bolters. If I assemble it with no converting, how much pushback do you think I'll see in non tournament games as long as my opponent is informed if the scout unit is equipped with snipers?

As with anything WYSIWYG related it depends on what the people you play with accept. Wouldn't bother me, doesn't mean it wouldn't bother anyone else though.

Do you have any other Scouts in your army? If you do then it might confuse people further, depending on what it looks like they're equipped with and what you say they're equipped with.

If you are talking about the scout models that come with the land speeder storm, you will get zero push back. They are just for show, much like the turret gunner on a Predator.

you can go the extra mile and give them snipers if you'd like. but its not required. Also, good choice! it's one of my favorite models.

Your opponent would be a churlish ass if they complained you built a model in the only configuration supplied in the box, given the Scouts modelled are for decoration only anyway.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Yes, those are the models I'm talking about. The scout squad itself is a sniper scout squad with the appropriate gear on the model. I do have two sniper squads and each one has a lose rifle so I was looking at converting, however, I also have a bolter squad and a close combat squad - I've been collecting for a while, some of these are the old metal models from the 90s lol - and I'm not magnetizing the scouts on the speeder, that's too much work for what it is.

For sure it's a cool model, I've always wanted one because I've liked space marine scouts since tyranid attack but it always seemed to get put on hold in favor of another model. But with the start of 10th it sounds like sniper scouts in a land speeder might be a darn good unit so I pulled the trigger.

The Land Speeder Storm is modeled with Scouts on it because it's cool, not to be WYSIWYG. Those guys are there regardless of whether there is a unit embarked in it or there is even a unit in your army that can embark in it.

Right now, if you don't have a unit that can embark on it those guys aren't there because the speeder isn't deployed and counts as destroyed on the first turn. I just head-cannon it that while they're running around in the speeder they may have their sniper rifles stowed, and pick up some bolters out of a rack - of course once its time to shoot they pick up their sniper rifles because reasons.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Didn't note it was a Dedicated Transport. The point remains that the Scouts on the Speeder are just decorations. The unit only as 3 close combat attacks despite there being 6 scouts on it... well two operators and 4 scouts. What happened to the other guy in the embarked unit

Then how does the weapon fire once he disembarks? Does the driver reach over and fire it from his seat while also piloting
