Is there any form of media that in anyone think is missing from the franchise. Like say a certain genre of game or a movie or some form of wiki where you can fidn all the information in 1 simple place?

A Blackstone Fortress-style cooperative board game, but with custom characters instead of pre-made, and a proper campaign with an interesting storyline and fateful choices (not just a dungeon crawl).

Maybe also a direct-to-streaming horror film (either live action or animation, I'm not picky, both have their advantages).

.

Cadians, Sisters of Battle, Drukhari

Read my Drukhari short stories: Chronicles of Commorragh

I’d like to see more games in the vein of Necromunda.

As a setting, it’s a terrific view into the relative minutiae of Imperial Life, such as Planetary Governors being largely left to it, provided the tithe is met on time, and how such a Governor might go about maintaining their power and authority.

A Gloomhaven-style cooperative board game with multiple pools of heroes from different factions would be amazing.

I would like to see this too.

Also an RPG set on Necromunda, there is so much one could mine from that setting.

I’m going to sound boring, but 40k is shockingly light in the FPS genre. We’ve gotten Bolt Gun and… I think Firewarrior? Oh yeah, there’s that necromunda looter shooter doom clone too. Other then that there’s at least a few 3rd person.

I’d say that there’s a dirth of potential I’d like to see which *doesn’t* involve space marines. Something horror focused centering on the guard (or scions if they have to be elites) vs the chaos cultists, mutants, and the odd demon. Or just tyranids.

Alternatively 40k feels like it’s screaming for a multiplayer game. Something more pvp oriented battlefield (or other asymmetrical games) would be great.

Admittedly I just remembered Darktide is a thing, which definitely does scratch the multiplayer over pseudo horror. I’m a bit salty though given how horribly unfinished it is… plus it’s a looter shooter. And I bloody hate looter shooters.

The place where 40k fans and MOBA fans meet is arguing about game balance so a 40k-themed MOBA could also be fun.

This is it for me right here. We don't need more diversity in the types of media in which GW participates as much as we need more of the not-marines to be better represented in existing types of media..

A good non-GW board game, like Forbidden Stars or Chaos in the Old World, would be cool, although it's not going to happen now.

I believe GW is not going to explore board game genres where they can't include their miniatures, sadly, so we can only count on a constant stream of samey skirmish and dungeon crawl titles, with rather poor rules (compared to what the industry is doing right now) to boot.

For example it would be cool to see a euro-style economy game about running logistics for different armies with final scoring being about how well they are supplied for a battle against each other

Having recently played, enjoyed and succeeded at Pandemic, Cthulhu?

An Inquisition based version. Standard Pandemic type game, but it’s your attempts to take out a Chaos Cult before it gains enough resources to be in open war.

Ha! After I have finished my post I started thinking about simple re-themes of existing games and Pandemic was the first thing that came to my mind I haven't played Pandemic Cthulhu, though, but was thinking about the Fall of Rome variant.

In fairness pointless minis are not an unfamilar feature of board games these days.

Very true!

The additional constraint for a GW board game would be the fact, that they seem to aim for interchangeability of models between games (you can use your Rogue Traders from Black Fortress in Kill Team and use Exaction squad from Kill Team in big WH40K etc) and thus stick to the default scale of models for 40k/AoS.

So, for example, a 4X or an area control game which can't use 28mm scale models but would require something entirely else wouldn't be an option, I believe

A good table top strategy game would be very well received by the community I think. :p

But seriously- total pipe dream but I'd love to see a documentary-style series in the style of 'the world at war' etc on famous battles in the modern setting.

Also? Books. Specifically Art Books, like the Liber Chaotica, Xenology etc.

Those were amazing products, packed full of new and interesting background of questionable in-universe veracity (deliberately so).

I’d love some more of those, and there are a lot of possibility. Consider an Imperial Navy guide to Xenos ships, and what the author thinks they know about them.

In-universe we see ship crews able to identify the Xenos race and ship class, so that knowledge is coming from somewhere.

It’s an excuse for gorgeous art and amusingly hopeless “factual” information, in amongst genuine insight etc.

If you want a euro game I could see a situation that your workers are made of some kind of civilian that could double up for games of Necromunda or in an IG army as some kind of Administratum unit. Also most of the sculpts in Forbidden Stars are scaled down sculpts of existing models from 40k or Battlefleet Gothic sculpts so they could maybe do that also. Also Epic is returning so a 4X scale mini is not off the table so to speak.

I always thought a Diplomacy/City Management game set in Necromunda would be amazing.

Trying to juggle the different groups and gangs while also keeping everyone happy would be quite fun to do!

Okay, you know what? I've given it a bit more thought.

I want Age of Apostasy stuff. Models for the six founding Saints of the Sororitas... Maybe a Siege of Terra game where the six are spirited away by the Custodes to meet the Emperor.

Or a fall of the Eldar game- And I mean a full series, supported multi-year game... With not a single marine allowed to come to come to the party. They got Heresy, which excludes Xenos, so I want a game that excludes them.

And when the Eldar only game is in its second edition, then we can release an Epic scale Eldar only game that Marines also aren't allowed to play..

And maybe, the year that these games drop, we won't put any Marines in starter boxes. You know, let marines go six months with NOTHING, just so they learn what it feels like to be everybody else.

(The Irony being, of course that they wouldn't- you could double the size of the Sisters or DE ranges and Marines would still have more).
