esp as they could make it AoS where you'd have even more wild ships, sea monsters, air creatures and all!!

Same as Warmaster - I'd love an AoS Warmaster with godbeasts on the table as well!

I don't think they are leaving money on the table so much as lacking production capability. Stock is already somewhat short, and most models right now can either pull double duty 40k/kill team or aos/underworlds/old World or are space marines (epic)

Hey guys, can we take all OT discussion elsewhere and keep this thread solely for 40K N&R? With the new edition on the horizon it'd be great if we could stay on topic and not bury any relevant info or tasty rumours in all this OT chatter. Thanks!

At this point it may be best to start a thread for the new edition instead of continue this adepticon one.

This is the general 40k rumours thread though, but if someone wants to start (and also update the OP and title), then go for it, high time for a refresh.

edit.

When someone does do a new thread, report this post with "New 40k N&R thread started, please lock" or the like, don't do an empty report please, so we can Old Yeller this one.

Regarding whether the new Custodes will be useable in 40k as well as 30k, they do appear on the GW shop on both the 40k Custodes page and the 30k one. Some of the 40k stuff does not appear on the 30k side (like the Rhino and Land Raider), but all the new stuff shows on both.

Considering GW management are diehard on a "no shared models" policy; that's surprising!

It might just be a special case or there's a chance that whatever management initiative that pushed for the rule is getting internal pushback or hitting the realities of "wait why are we spending twice just to separate income figures - do we really care that much?"

Again though, that is correct for the currently published rules.

We only returned to Lunar Orbit, we still have 2 or 3 years for a Space Hulk/Man o war/BattleFleet Gothic/Inquisitor rerelease.

Anyone care to place a bet?

Doubly odd when you consider the Sisters of Silence kit doesn't show up for both games.

The Carrion Throne novels establish the SoS were more or less defunct by 40k, and only being reestablished in 41k, so um, there's that.

Librarian preview tomorrow and fight phase rules this week. It's going to be a bit dry for a while isn't it?

Perhaps but we've got a big chunk of Imperial Guard models to come before the new edition. A few lulls for sure but there's still some chunky releases for 40K before the new edition hits.

I'd bet it's the Weirdboy; we had a Space Marine this past week.

With the marine unit last week I'm guessing it'll be the Weirdboy tomorrow.

Assuming Armageddon is next up (Apr 25th preorder) and the new edition is late June as usual, that's leaving a large gap in the 40k release schedule. Of course they can split some of the guard stuff across two waves as well as filling a week with the KT box, but 40k tends to get something new at least every month. Wonder if there's something else coming we haven't heard of yet.

I think it's unlikely anything has changed in regards to the policy, but when this big split was negotiated we were explicitly told that Knights and Custodes had been exempted and that's probably still the case.

(Granted, there are still bits of that that don't work, but it strikes me that is more likely weirdness on the incredibly janky website for the most part than deliberate.)

In one of the recent Q&As there was a question about whether 30k custodes units are going to legends next codex. The Warhammer40k account clearly responded with "They are not".

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

I've seen a Facebook post that was less clearly worded, is there a source somewhere?

If it's this, it's not very indicative of anything imo.

That doesn't explain why the plastic kit is in the 40k section but not in the 30k one.

But well, the letter was and is a mess anyway.

It's better than nothing, but tbh I don't think the Community team get told much in advance.

Hmmmm, I don't know if it's the GW paint scheme but the wires look way too stiff and angled in a way that makes them look awkward. There should have been a better mix of slack wires and ones that were being charged up, as it is, I much prefer the older design with the grot minderz and more subtle pose.

Also, man, they are reaaallly pushing tactical rocks on the models for the starter set huh?

As much as I’m generally against swirly stuff for it’s own sake, I think the weirdboy could use a little more. He’s got all those cables flailing around, but only one little spark of power coming out of his temple. I’d like to se some arcs connecting some of those exposed connections.

And they are obviously designed to plug in connect to something. Might be fun to kitbash a place for him to get wired in and rest between fights.

To be fair, it’s described as him just about to launch an attack, so I’m guessing a gale of telekinetic bleed-off.

Sounds like ‘eadbanging is still in though!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I figure the wires and that are another grounding failsafe.

That’s why their staff is copper after all. And why, traditionally, they’re kept up big copper towers between battles.

Now we need the weirdboy tower addon for the battlewagon to come out. Was a cool piece of old concept art.
