SCE get the art focus today(or maybe yesterday's?). Some of the early stuff is whack/not to my liking, but the shot of Torglug the Despised reborn as Tornus the Redeemed on the Anvil of Apotheosis is probably my favorite piece of AoS art even after 10ish years.
Was a great culmination to the story, where Torglug was the relentless antagonist in the chase to get Alarielle's vessel to safety, just to get hammered by the Celestant Prime. Was a neat twist and I think the first time in the lore that we got an example of what Sigmar's hammer can do, other than just smash stuff really hard.

Have to say, i really enjoy this piece depicting the reforging. Gets across just how horrific the process actually looks to those that have to undergo it

Honestly whilst some aspects of AoS lore are very wobbly (or annoy the heck out of me like the lack of dates.....) the way GW have presented reforging has been great. Starts out Stormcast being invincible - now we see them as being torn apart b the process and some going insane

Nooo don't trap it in a warband for warcry/underworlds. Have it be its own beast.
But yes I'd love to see one! Esp as the Vargulf was stolen by the Flesheaters and the only other Vargskr was removed as it was part of Cursed City

No, you've got an ogor character and Mollog, who's troll size. You could get a Vargskyr in a warband, it would just be a small group.

The lore hasn't really changed much at all. People weren't just paying attention to it before, and 4E started highlighting it more aggressively.
It doesn't help that 4e had the tagline about "Sigmar Lied" (when he in fact was open about the flaws of reforging and has been trying to fix it since 1e...)
The artwork shown here could have come right out of Soul Wars, the 2.0 launch novel, and its Lightning-Gheist.

There are supposed rumours about another skirmish game in the works. I don't think Warcry is totally out though. You don't throw big, official tournaments for something you want to end. Besides, Spearhead is their Killteam equivalent.

No, he was super upfront about it. Straight up. He had people looking for a cure or fix all this time, it was presented as a problem to overcome with the help of his researchers and Stormcast sorcerers rather than a shameful footnote. It's been featured heavily. It was never even remotely a lie. Sigmar didn't himself know about the flaw until his Stormcast started dying multiple times, but once they did, there was no secret.
It would also be utterly impossible to even attempt to hide, because of the vast list of side effects of repeated reforgings. It's something they see constantly in themselves and/or in their companions.

He was only upfront once it became more and more obvious with each reforging. There's mention in a few novels about how the failing was a rumour among the SCE, but not confirmed. As you say, once it became too obvious, he just had to come out with it. And now he's all out given up on a cure and it's just a "deal with it" situation. It's why Astreia has basically ababonded the current situation, as she refuses to give up on a cure. Automatically Appended Next Post:

The two brands of games do tend to rift off of each other. I wouldn't be surprised if 4th edition AOS ends with it's own indoor-combat campaign similar to Arks of Omen( Boarding Actions). I don't feel like you are being fair.
He found out about the flaw at the same time the Stormcast themselves did. He wasn't keeping it secret from them, indeed it would be impossible to as it was happening to them, not to him.
Already by 2e he had the Sacrosanct Chamber out roaming looking for a fix.
And the reason why the Sacrosancts, including Astreia, were ordered to return, was not because Sigmar is in a "deal with it" situation or because he's given up. It's because the situation right now has put the Stormcast under so much pressure that he has had to set aside the search for long-term solutions, and recalled the Sacrosancts to the Anvil to try to mitigate the damage in the short term instead by assisting the reforging process conventionally.
You can criticise Sigmar for some things, but he wasn't the bad guy here. The "Sigmar Lied" tagline was just cheap attention bait, no more. Automatically Appended Next Post: Mr_Rose wrote:

Definitely not. The crusades have achieved a lot in and of themselves. Heroes rising that are worthy and willing to become Stormcast isn't a bonus worth building any kind of strategy around; danger is plentiful enough as it is.
