It's very Lynch Dune-like.

Glad to see love for the Acquisitor- it's the one I was going to mention. Creepiest vehicle in the game. Wish it was cheap GW plastic instead of expensive FW resin. I'd have two by now, and SoS to go with it. But I won't do resin, especially a vehicle kit that virtually requires magnetization in order to get the full impact of the sculpt.

But since somebody mentioned it before me, I'll cast a vote for an actual GSC Limo. Appropriated mining and off-road vehicles are cool and all.... But tell me you don't want a Magus and some hybrids livin large in a limo.

I'm always on the fence about the Acquisitor, it's ALMOST a Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers type Ray Gun Gothic ship and strays just a bit too far from the Imperial look for my taste.

But at the same time it is nice to see something different and the black paint scheme is very striking on it.

Looks cool though so good enough for me and after all, I don't play 40k to have a game that makes sense

To be fair, when your mode of interstellar travel involves punching a hole in reality, skinny dipping through Actual Hell, then punching your way back to reality? I’m not sure sense and physics as we understand them can really be said to hold much water!

Plus, given the utter ignorance of the setting’s technology? I wouldn’t put it past the Very Basic STC For The Very Basic Chassis to include some kind of anti-grab miracle which helps out when traversing very difficult ground to counteract the mass of the tank, and protective energy fields on the underside to help stop protrusions gouging the less armoured belly.

Pretty much while I've always been of the opinion that what matters in a fictional universe is not that it is in line with actual physics but that it keeps its own logic and consistency to stay credible and allow you to play along. For the most part, 40k has more or less managed it I think, in spite of the wealth of sometimes opposed sources of lore that were written.

my feeling is that i would be a lot more positive to the Acquisitor if it wasn't associated with SoS. doesn't fit their style at all. give it to AdMech instead and it'd fit in a lot better

It should also be 50% longer, I get that it's resin and that limits things but if was made in plastic...

My main problem with the Acquisitor is that it looks massively impractical for its intended use.

Paint it yellow and you have something Joan, Georgia, Paula and Ringa can jump out of.

It does look incredibly sinister though. Whatever it might promise, it’s nothing good or healthy.

Have you seen that movie?

Painting it yellow quadruples the sinister.

Krieg! What a hole...

The Valkyrie Specter, from Redemption Corps.

Enough room to fit two Centaurs filled with men, and have four heavy bolters in the back. I think they have more engines but I am drawing a blank.

Edit: From Lexi

The Spectre-class Valkyrie armored assault carrier is an oversized variant of the Valkyrie designed to transport small vehicles and light ordnance. It deviates from the original design by the presence of four engines, an extended cargo bay able to carry two Centaurs and their troop complement, a nose-mounted autocannon, four door-mounted heavy bolters, and four hardpoints under the wings.[9]

So my Google-Fu is proving weak. Or my imagination is being a phallus.

But the Space Marine Claymore.

Mr Brain reckons it was a WD conversion article.

how about obscure vehicles that are new? like the Overlord Gunship, a new Primaris Space Marine transport that has only appeared in fiction thus far. apparently they resemble Corvus Blackstars but fills the thunderhawk role and is similar in size (able to carry 80 Primaris marines). size wise i'd expect we'll never get a kit for one, but it might be neat to get official art for the thing.

Here's all I could find by typing space marines claymore. No traces of WD articles unfortunatly, but I'd be interested to see it if anyone has got the reference.

Might’ve just been a random conversion shown in an obscure ‘Eavy Metal page.

Well firs off- it looks better when the end is swapped for the end with the Iris door.

Even then, it's fair to say aesthetics don't line up I suppose- but you do see the Null shackle rigs on each side of the vehicle that are designed to secure and neutralize witches for transport to the Blackships, right? I mean it may not be an aesthetic match, but it clearly was specifically designed for use by SoS, for their specific job, leveraging the skill set that only they possess, to fulfill a role that only they perform.

Aesthetics or no, there's probably no other vehicle in the game that is so clearly designed for only one specific set of users.
