And now, I finally got the shelf up in the front room. Paid a handyman, as I find lodging a drill in my own head is a waste of a weekend,
Has also meant Blurays and DVDs moved from the window sill, letting more light in. Has a real difference.

Handymen are underrated, I just hired one to check my smoke detectors (For context the maniac who designed my house gave all the upper floor rooms 10 foot high ceilings. I'm 5'7 and last time I went up a ladder I fractured my knee, so this had been bugging me)
My own little win: Actually booked an optician's appointment. Overcoming mild agoraphobia to go to it on tuesday, rather than just putting up with constant headaches
Oh, and I paid all my council tax for the year yesterday, so that's one of my biggest financial obligations of the year sorted

Is definitely worth getting your peepers checked. As covered before I now wear readers, and despite only a light prescription it’s made a world of difference. Spesh with my painting as I can suddenly see sharp detail.
And I agree on handymen. I’ve used such to date to get a pair of shelves and my dividing curtain up. Arguably stuff I probably could’ve done for myself, but for the sake of £50 here and there? I’d rather have it done proper proper. Plus side is I can observe How They Do, and get a better idea of whether it’s something I can learn properly for myself.
Same reason as I have a window cleaner. Sure I can do the downstairs windows, piece of piss. But upstairs? I’m not mucking around with that when the alternative is £12 every four weeks,
I will be painting the bedroom on my own though. Really need to crack on with that.
I had a sort-of Council Tax win. Setup a DD the day I got the bill, opting to pay off over 10 months as usual. Except there was a delay in them setting it up, so my first payment is 1 May, not 1 April. Which is more convenient, as Disney+ renewed, so it’s all balanced out quite nicely. Automatically Appended Next Post: Another socially responsible little win? Bought a litter grabber stick thing, and have been keeping my bit of the road tidier. Because Crap Attracts Crap. For the sake of maybe five minutes with the stick and a black bag? I can keep it tidy.

And now mown my lawn for the first time. Nice an easy. Weeds be gone!
Do need to get in with a trowel or similar and dig up the weeds at the roots, get shot of them as best I can.

Dandelions have a long tap-root, and if you don't get it all. I find if you push down just beside them with a long screwdriver and just give it a bit of a waggle, it loosens it enough to allow you to pull it out in one piece.

A lot of weeds in a grass lawn will die with regular mowing because they throw all their energy into growing a top that you keep mowing off.

Dandelions I’m not so fussed about. They help feed the bees.
But the big spiky things? Hell no. No to Grass Squigs. Not on my lawn.
Damn Squigs, Get Off My Lawn!

My new anxiety medication is working. I barely had a panic attack when my mom berated me and called me horrible things for being an adult and "playing with baby toys."
She doesn't approve of the game... or any game for that matter.

Arrived safely and without travel fuss in Tokyo. I am extremely tired, and in an hour or so will be checking into my room. Power Nap (maybe an hour or so) then a shower followed by dinner is the plan.
After that? I’ll see what I fancy doing,

I find applying for jobs very nerve wracking (and the less said about interviews the better). But I got 3 done this week, so I'm taking it as a win.

Definitely a win.
We don’t know each know each other, but I’m proud of you good sir.
I’m currently having a whale of a time in Tokyo. Had some delicious Sushi for dinner, visited three tiny wee but fun rock bars, and wound up in a Hostess Place (no, not like that. Dirty Dakka. Bad Dakka. In your bed, on your rug). Thought I was paying for a burlesque show, ended up with a hostess as company.
A slightly odd but still enjoyable experience. Not sure one I think I’d want to repeat. Language Barrier was one thing. A lass pretending to enjoy my company because money quite another. Overall a positive experience, because we look with our eyes not with our hands, and the show was good fun. Just not sure I need the enforced company aspect. Chalk that up to a cultural difference!
Yes. I did apologise to the three ladies that I wasn’t much fun as a customer, and was assured I’m not meant to buy them drinks. No harm done.

Just be aware the BIG Gundam store is a ticketed place, and you need to apply in advance.
I wound up going to the ickle one by the statue. For my first ever ever ever Gunpla, being a Hobby Tart I of course went for the vac-metal Store Exclusive for me. And a different, less expensive but still damned cool Store Exclusive for my friend.
Mad props to the others who viewed the transformation with me. Many people on their phones, but the vast majority using floor standing sticks, or getting in view from chest height, so you’re actually seeing it yourself and not through your cursed black mirror.
