Let’s jump to Part 1 of the changes in Argatoria 1st to 2nd Edition!

In this part, we will cover Panic Test. The result required to pass the Panic Test now depends on the number of full ranks in a unit. For instance, if a unit has got 2 full ranks, it will pass the Panic Tests it is forced to take on a 2 or less, while a single rank will pass them only on 1s.

Previously, Panic Test was static; on a 3 or less, a base would pass the test, while on a 4+ it would flee, regardless of the unit’s size. This new change emphasises that more numerous troops are less vulnerable to Panic than single ranks.

Another notable change is that a hero attached to a unit during a Panic Test is treated as a full rank. This greatly improves the tactical value of attaching the heroes to units that suffered some losses. For example, if your unit consists of 10 bases (2 full ranks and 2 bases behind) and a hero attached, it is treated as having 3 full ranks, so it will pass Panic Tests on a 3 or less instead of 2 or less. This also means that a Horde of 16 bases with a hero attached will be very well protected from Panic caused by magic, or a Forgon’s Living Catapult, at least at the initial stages of battle.

The new Panic Test caused changing and adjusting certain rules and abilities, such as the Command Group’s ability affecting the Panic Tests, or an already mentioned Forgon’s Living Catapult. This will be described in detail another time!

Hey folks! A lot has been going on lately! Firstly, there's a new 18-page long Getting Started with Argatoria brochure available to download here: https://www.spellcrow.com/downloads-faqs-pm-49.html

It includes:

All 7 armies showcased with a bit of lore
Introduction to the game and general information about the gameplay bullet points
Example combat
Preview of the next army (Dwarves) and the first painted Dwarf hero!

There were also a few pics from the workshop on Spellcrow's social media, showing the finished models from the Dwarves Command Group set, as well as another Dwarf hero compared to the Orc hero. Pics below!

Some of the Dwarves are already being prepared for casting. This means that you’ll soon be able to find some of them in Spellcrow's Mystery Boxes and Mega Bags of Freebies.

What do you think about these incredibly hairy chaps?

Hello folks! Today I'm bringing some exciting news for you. Marek, the main sculptor of Dwarves, has just finished another Dwarven unit and is now starting work on the Amazons Command Group. Later this week we’ll be showing you more models from this unit, but today you can see the very first one. These Dwarven veterans might just be the stockiest miniatures among all the Dwarves of the Raghorn clan. ?

Of course, we also discussed upcoming projects – including a Legendary Dwarven Hero. Work on the Orcs is still ongoing as well, but we weren’t fully happy with the Riders of Daaran cavalry. We’ll keep refining them until we’re 100% satisfied, and only then will we show them to you.

We know that some models are taking longer than expected, but we stick to one rule: we want the miniatures to be as good as possible. One example is a Legendary Hero for Dirandis. We prepared this model a long time ago, but never showed it, because we simply didn’t like the first version. We’re now resculpting it from scratch. His rules are already included in the upcoming update of the Appendices, so we hope to reveal the model to you soon!

Hi guys! As we mentioned here and there, we’ll be gradually revealing more Dwarves of the Raghorn clan.

These particular warriors come with massive beards and heavy cloaks, and every one of them is swinging a huge flail! That's why this unusual unit will be one of the first in Argatoria to appear on 30mm square bases.

Playing with such large bases can be a bit challenging, but thanks to the rules we’re currently testing, it won’t be a big issue for the Raghorn army.

Those are some serious beards!

Perhaps they should be the Bigbeard clan

Hi guys!

Today you can see how tall and broad the upcoming Dwarves are next to the other Argatoria races. Thoughts?

The next photo reveals more designs of the Dwarven veterans with flails. Marek, who sculpted the Dwarves, was telling us about his latest ideas for future models. He mentioned that he has always wanted to sculpt Dwarven women – we’re curious if you like that idea too!

Before he starts working on the next Dwarves, however, he plans to create an Amazons Command Group. So we hope that within a month or two we’ll be able not only to show this alternative command group, but also release it for sale.

I love the new flaily dwarves; I'd mount them on 20mm or 25mm bases and use them for my 28mm scale stuff. Use them as Derro or something

Glad you like them! I'm curious how they'd look like used next to 28mm scale stuff

Hi folks! Today you can see all eight designs of the Dwarves Bearserkers cast in resin

Some of you may have already received Dwarves for Argatoria among our freebies, and soon the Bearserker models will join them!

Before the Raghorn clan hits the shelves, you’ll also be able to win these models in Spellcrow's social media giveaways and find them in Mystery Boxes.

I'm happy to read that and 100% agree

Hi guys! Here are all eight finished designs of the Dwarven veterans, hand-sculpted by Marek.

The next unit for the Raghorn Dwarves that Marek will be working on will be warriors equipped with exceptionally ornate swords and helmets. In the meantime, while sculpting this unit, Marek will also be working on a single model for the Raghorn army — the Werebear!

Lizardmen are still my favourites but these dwarves are incredible models. I definitely need to get some elite bearded infantry that would make a Call of Duty game blush.

I get what you feel I also still put my reptilian forces over anything else. Dwarves were never really my thing, but I must admit that these tiny guys are just too adorable. At the same time, they're looking deadly serious – I think it's my favourite combination.

Hi guys! The rules for the lately released units of Peasants, Northern Guard, as well as many other upcoming units and heroes, are now available in the Argatoria 2nd Edition Rulebook, which received an update yesterday!

Those of you who have already purchased the rulebook should find an email from Spellcrow in your mail inbox – it includes a link to the rulebook ver. 2.2 and a changelog listing all the new additions and updates (you may access it from your Order details linked in that email).

Enjoy reading and exploring the new stuff!

On another note, below you can see the very first resin casts of the Dwarven veterans with flails. Starting now and until the end of this week, we’ll be adding single minis from this unit as freebies to your physical orders at spellcrow.com!

If you’d like to get more sample Dwarf models, just write “Raghorn” in the comment to your order

Getting a bit of a bug on the website, I'm in Ireland and have previously ordered stuff without an issue, but its no longer letting me order to Ireland. Shipping to UK or France still works. Gonna pop in an email.

Hi guys! Today we're sharing with you all the photos from the weekend preview of the Lord of Sheol-morg!

In the first photo, you can see the first resin cast of the model along with all its casting sprues.

The second photo shows him from both sides. The model is mounted on a 25mm round base, just like other standard heroes in Argatoria.

And finally, the last photo is the size comparison of the Lord of Sheol-morg with several other races. You’ll spot a Barbarian, an Amazon, a Dwarf, an Orc, a Kozar, a Liagulian, and a Golden Guard.

The Lord of Sheol-morg miniature measures exactly 21 mm from the feet (or rather hooves) up to the eyes.

Thanks! They are adorable for sure From the painting perspective, there will be so much hair and so little skin to paint on them (it might a bonus for some)

Lord of the Abyss is scheduled to sculpt next, after the Amazons Command Group which is currently in progress

Hi folks! We’re currently working on a new model – you can see it here from the back.

We’re curious if you can guess which army this miniature will belong to – or maybe even who it is!

Hi everyone! Today you can see the Legendary Orc Hero – Kar'ku

He comes from the Orc clan of the city of Kargoth, whose symbol you can see on his belt.

Does Kar'ku’s appearance mean that the clan from Kargoth will join the great wars in Argatoria? And what will the clan of the great pirate city of Zalkar do? Will the Orc Pirates also march to battle? You’ll find out all about it very soon

Hi everyone!

Today you can see an Orc Hop. The unit of Orc Hops is a Basic Unit of the Kargoth clan.

In the Orcish language, Hop means a peasant warrior. Some of you may have already been lucky enough to receive these models as freebies with your orders!

We’ll be showing you more Hop designs later this week and, as usual, some of you will become the lucky owners of this unit before their release
