UR-025 might not be as appropriate as I had originally thought. Sekhetar confirmed on 40mm according to the army battleforce pics and scale of the skull basing decorations.

Crap, I thought they were on the same size base. That's how I scaled them, which made them A LOT closer.

If they’re 2 to a box then let’s be honest they’ll be either 2 or maybe 4 to a unit.

Yeah, rumors say 2-4 per unit.

I know a lot of people dislike the robots... but... I think they might make cool destroyed bits for bases/objectives.

I just hope they aren't too expensive.

Or they might be so awesome that all the 1kSons players on this forum have a change of heart and embrace them as the works of art that they are.

I like them, as a Thousand Sons take on a Wraithguard. But I don't play chaos, too many other army's already

I don't mind the Anubis headed version, but the other one doesn't have the same ushabti like anthropomorphic guardian vibe. Similarly I prefer the configurations with guns mounted on arms instead of shoulder socket mounts. There might be a way to get two models that I'm happy with from the kit but there might be a better alternative that I'd be even happier with.

Normally I'm all for innovation and creativity, but in this case what I really want is for them to stop trying to reinvent the wheel and just give us 30k robots in 40k!

Today Tzeentch Daemons are flagged as Scintillating Legion, and are in the Thousand Sons filter on the Warhammer website. They were not listed under Thousand Sons yesterday. Cultists are not there. Terminator sorcerer is. I didn't notice any other losses.

From what I was told from various players who are equally obsessed with their faction as I am with ours, WE/EC/DG had the same updates (demons under their faction) during the week leading up to their Sunday Preview.

If you want to see for yourself: https://www.warhammer.com/en-US/shop/warhammer-40000/armies-of-chaos/thousand-sons

This week is GW's last chance to get TS/SW rolling before other heavy stuff hits in June. They'll probably want to get all the rules previews and Codex chats out of the way for these two to save room for all the hype of reveals during the week of Dallas Open on the 22nd I think.

Unless of course, their rules are really good - then everyone suddenly always loved the models!

I'll still be on the lookout for better alternatives. But seriously, a 40k version of their 30k battlebots would have been much better.

And while looking at the web store, I noticed that the Chaos Knight Abhorrent kit is missing entirely.

If Chaos Knights are getting a new variant at the Questoris scale, like IK are getting the Defender, then a repackage makes sense.

Wonder if it'll stay as one box, or get split into two, though.

Odd one as the chaos one has fewer sprues in at present, a new chaos variant would actually put it level with the defender box etc. so splitting it would be an odd choice.

It's a sign that you shouldn't be looking up naughty Chaos Knights.

Doesn't that nice new Defender model look good? Think how nice it will look next to your Imperial forces.

Think how much nicer it would look covered in spikes.

Preview with the new army rule, https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/

Seems the text leaks were right for the most part, if not the most specific.

I am not the biggest fan of rolling to use your army rule, but being able to try again if you don't succeed and the 3 dice only doing mortals on a double is helpful.

Both detachments seem interesting, but to me it is unclear, but I think they said the terminators -1 to wound is only against units that are psyker? That would suck so hard.

I think it's a classic GW bad wording situation, but I assume they meant to say that the termies give -1 to wound against attacks while it contains a psyker in their unit, but I might be wrong. Otherwise that would be incredibly niche for a bodyguard unit.

At least it sounds fun. A little randomness seems like something Tzeentch would be in favor of.

I'm hoping it's just bad phrasing and it's actually -1 to Wound the Terminators while unit contains a Psyker.

Wait until GW copies these casting rules into the GK codex too

Good thing then that none of my armies (not even my GKs) are much concerned with casting.

If you fail the psychic test you can try again with a different eligible model (Psyker) until you've succesfully manifested said power.

You also roll 2D6 and then get to chose if you want to roll a third D6, risking inflicing MW on your own unit, for the sake of getting a higher roll and potentially boosting the effect in the process.
If you roll terrible on the initial 2D6, you always have the option to go "nevermind" and try manifest the power again on a different Psyker.

All in all, the regular non-boosed versions of Destiny's Ruin, Temporal Surge and even Doombolt all seem quite easy to manifest, with only Twist of Fate essentially requiring a third dice (or a good initial roll).

Edit: Realized I replied to an outdated post and that you've already come to the same conclusion.

It is. The rule is: "Rites of Coalecence: While this unit contains one or more Psyker models, each time an attack targets this unit, subtract 1 from the Wound roll."

Yea the way they are handling the rolls for the test, such as letting you try again if you fail one, has relieved my worry on it. Also I changed my opinion because the new rule means we are not hamstrung into including as many characters as possible for cabal points just to use our army rule

Even if we were, they're all getting cheaper so it would be easier.

I like the idea of them as statues for Blackstone Fortress as they're a bit like the Chozo from Metroid. They can either be just statues that can be destroyed to gain access to an area of the map, or they activate to become a hostile.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.
