I'll have to work on that axe. And was planning to add an mounted heavy bolter that would follow the arm movement but it might be overcrowded..
Had the idea of adding an old devastator backpack to power the heavy servo harness but not sure either..

The greave will be refined to have a cog like lining .

Not really seeing the warpsmith tbh. I am liking it though. That is one chunky boi. Something seems to be missing to me though. I could not say what mind you.

It's looking too much like a regular techmarine in heavier armour. Maybe look toward myrmidons for inspiration? Gotta find some reason to warrant terminator armour, what does it add?

Walking power generator? In the context of nids it could be a walking cardiac arrest for a bigger organism in the form of delivering a massive electric pulse or so. When power would be borderline impossible to generate otherwise.

Wasn't planning to anyway so if it feels like it I don't mind but wasn't going for the warpsmith look anyway !

My head canon is that he's wandering around with one or more salvation squad under his command to retrieve and salvage anything worthwhile on different theatre of war..
So yeah walking heavy behemoth is fitting but I don't want to add a sleigh filled with random bits ahaha.

I could potentially incorporate a teleportation homer though..

Hi there ! I'm still alive !

It's been a while, left you guys with a lot of ongoing projects and WIP.. life has been really difficult those past few months.
Left my partner, got full custody of the kid, kept the dog and the flat ( which is a god emperor damn miracle ! ) got sick and too burnt out to even find time or solace in plastic soldiers..
As I was struggling to keep everything afloat I of course forgot about my combat patrol subscription and I have now 5 terminators to build on top of my unfinished projects
A Warhammer buddy kept sending me updates about his work and well one thing led to another.. I managed to take some time for myself and built this lad !


It's not much for now but I was at peace for almost 3h ( didn't expect it to be so tedious to build !)
And now that he's done well he's way to bland for my taste so I'm gonna Kitbash the hell out of it !
Got loads of spare nids bits, tons of green stuff and I'll manage to have a fixed hobby schedule !

And if that wasn't good enough, I found some amazing minis for my Sothan auxiliary project and even some for a Mirali aspirants one !

The idea is a big ass power falx , while it seems cool I always find it weird when Dreadnought wield swords..I don't know they feel too clumsy to wield one effectively what do you think ?

Aaw yeah, they do look kind of cute but theres more coming so at the very least he won't be alone as a trophy !

Planning some blast action there hopefully it'll look as cool as what I have in mind !


As for the falx, well it kinda works but I Fear that for it to look good I'll have to spend a huge load of time on it..not sure if that's the right time for me..



At least I can always keep it in mind a side project and complete it at some other time.

IMHO something off with weapon. May be you can try replace Dread's own claws with nids' scythes? The one from reveners should fit right.

Also, do you especially buy Tyranids kits for conversions? Or neurotyrant can be built without his collar?

Yeah ! Thought about that, like may be do a huge lightning claw. I'm not sold either so I'll keep playing around with it !

Well I bought the leviathan box few years ago so I had a steady supply of Tyranids bits laying around !
Fairly sure you can always find some Tyranids bits around but I wouldn't know where to look for

Hi all,

Managed to get a couple hours on the dreadnought and thought about some backstory as well.
He very may well be former bastion commander Culmonios - who technically died alongside Thorcyra on Miral- or former Mirali aspirant Hygwir/Culmonios - who technically died as well on board of a Tyranid hive ship alongside his salvation squad.. I'll get back to it later on once the dread is fully done I guess.

For now, I did commit to the lightning claw ! :




And toi the power falx s' well !



It's still a bit rough for now but everything will be smoothed out once the first green stuff session has had time to cure.

Worked on the main body as well leaving just enough place between bits for me to cry about later one when it'll need to be painted !

I don't personally like this spinal things on shoulders. They looks just not from here. Like if he rip them of some tyrant why they clearcutted? And they off size a bit. All other looks great. And lighting claw is amazing.

I see what you mean, my guess is that he doesn't go out of his armour to customise it nor does he do it with his big chunky fingers
But rather some servitor followed his path to retrieve him on the aftermath of some battle and he ordered them to pick some trophies here and there for them to be cleaned, sanctified and adorned to his armour.

As for the clean cut thing I plan on filling them with some green stuff and maybe add cloth to it as a cloak or petruges like some cataphractii shoulder pad ?

Hi there, worked a bit on the falx ,
Added a Tyranid pommel and some strips to secure the "blade"


Added a second cordon on the torso which looks cool !
And started the layered work of adding cloth to the shoulder guard. I'm not entirely sold yet but I'll buy some more later and work tomorrow and see from there.

I'll do a proper post on them once I bling them a little to better fit them into 40k but I was just so excited this morning that I had to share !

Sooo little bit more about the side project!

It all revolves around this specific picture :

- all credits are due to Forgemaster Sebastian ( Sebastian Stuart - https://www.the-scythes.com/ )

Back in 2017 he made it - or had it made can't recall - as a WIP, as far as I know he hasn't made anything out of it yet either. I did reach out to him a few times if I could ever use it as an inspiration but as of today I have not received any words from him.
He wrote a bit of little bit of fluff around this pic. The Sothan 1st Auxilia. An elite corps composed of former Scythes neophyte whom for any reason weren't inducted but were still willing to prove their worth and serve and protect Noble Sotha.
That clicked hard for me and it has been in the back of my head for the past 9 years now.
I always wanted to bring some regular dude alongside the marines, even if just a few. They could be escapees from Sotha who boarded their overlords ships for salvation from the Kraken.
It seemed fitting.
When I got back to the hobby, it was still vivid on my mind and I searched frantically for this one single pic and tabbed it anywhere I could to have a quick access to it if I could ever materialise it.
When I started to get burnt out of painting space marines I searched for basic guard unit that I could Kitbash but after my land raider I didn't want to spend a huge amount of time per model.
I looked through the new plastic guard model and that wasn't a great fit. I even considered an arbites kill team at one point but again not a close enough fit for me or necessitating way to much work or basically covering half the model with a greenstuff poncho..

Out of absolutely nowhere during a business meeting a client of mine mentioned an Etsy shop with great minis. Out of curiosity I checked it out and I had to place an order. I finally found my base for my rendition of the Sothan 1st Auxilia.

Thank you for bearing with me on the long post. I just feel like a kid again. After close to a decade I finally managed to bring this idea to life.

It's early, it's still rough, very much a WIP at that point, but I took a day off work as soon I saw the package in the mail and had to do it.
Hope you'll like the rendition as much as I do !
