So, much like everyone else I've taken the plunge to build and paint some mini from GW. Unlike some people I am not building an army to game with, just enjoying the chance to make my own chapter of Marines. Currently I am working Razorback and a number of Space Marines to see how the color scheme I am envisioning works out. The colors will be Vallejo's Gunmetal Gray with Gunmetal Blue as the accent color(possibly). The same will follow for the Marines.

The Marines are from the 3 count Space Marine packs from awhile back. I have Space Marine Captain, a Primaris Captain, 5 Terminators plus a couple more tactical Space marines to work on.

Looking good so far. Have you got a name or any lore in mind?

Sounds interesting! I don't play either and don't plan to , gives me more freedom to build and paint as I want !

So far, I am leaning towards "The Emperor's Thousand", I viewed as an overall Chapter that was built around a number of Chapters that were close to being disbanded due to heavy losses. I wanted to be able to paint models that looked interesting regardless of the originating chapter. GW going with the Primaris Marines has me somewhat rethinking this, but so far that is were it stands.

Added the final base color and accent to the Razorback. I think the Gunmetal Gray/Gunmetal Blue combo looks nice, please let me know what you think. In regards to the Space Marine, I am using him for a paint mule to see if the color combo works for the figures. Will need to work on the trim and some other parts, but it's coming along.

Have you looked up the Astral Knights?

That's almost the same color scheme and IIRC, there are still 31 of them roaming the galaxy after their chapter was wiped after attacking the Necron World Engine.

The Chapter master was a Dreadnought named Brother Thade.

I will have to look into that, and possibly adjust. Thank you.

Here is further update on my Razorback for my Chapter. The gunner is going to be in Techmarine colors. Still trying to determine the color for the lenses in the helmet that goes well with red; green or blue? The base colors are just about done. Some odds and ends to add plus trying to decide on the decals to use and how much weathering to do. I tried to take a picture of the separate First-gen Space Marines that I am also working on, but the image quality was terrible so I won't post. The only thing needing to be done with them is the lenses for the helmets, (again green, blue or red to go with the gunmetal color) and some drybrushing.
Overall an enjoyable experience so I hope you all enjoy. I will be adding the Terminators, a couple more tactical Marines plus a commander and a couple Primaris Marines before I tackle a couple of Chaos figures.

That looks great, thanks for the suggestions. might stick with blue across the board for all off the helmets.
