Hi folks,

Has anyone found or worked up rules to use the upcoming Saturning Terminators, Dreadnought, or the Araknea Quad Accelerator Platform
in Heresy 2.0?

Thanks.

I've been tinkering, based on Panoptica

But it will be helpful to have the full 3.0 stats first to see how they should compare to other units.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I'm not making any effort until I see:
A) the full 3e rules
B) if I even need to bother - if I & the group decide 3e will do for our 30k fix? Then I'm saved some time/effort.

I've bashed up rules for the Saturnine terminators/praetor. I've left them without a points value for now as I'm waiting to see how regular praetors/terminator squads are valued first. I'll do the same for the dreadnought and weapons platform when I get the chance.

Now that the leaks and rules have been out for a bit, anyone worked these up?

I would have thought it would be fairly straightforward to adapt the rules for these units. I didn't pick up my Saturnine boxed set over the weekend, so I still don't have the rules for them.

It will be interesting to see if, once the dust has settled, the majority of the Heresy 'community' continues to reject 3rd Edition. That would presumably lead to the adoption of some kind of updated version of 2nd Edition, which could then incorporate new units as needed. There is no reason why this could not happen - particularly if it was supported by Heresy event organisers.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Exactly.

I only started HH in v2. I spent a long time sorting out units, weapon choices etc, only for it all to be changed prior to me reaching half way through painting it all. I'm now done with GW's churn and burn (having been in it since WFBv2 and 40kv3). GW clearly made new units not in v2 to ensure the movement to v3.
I'm sticking with v2 when I play - I was just unsure what to do if my opponents bought Saturnine models.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.

I'm currently building 6 Saturnine terminators. I want the fists so that they fight well, with a twin disintegrators for shooting. I am unimpressed with the Plasma Bombard. My plan is:
3x Fist, Twin Disintegrators, and particle shredders.
2x Fist and Twin Disintegrators
1x Double Twin Disintegrators.

I am doubtful that all 6 make it across the board to deal out justice to the traitor legions. If I can get the double TD to shoot once, then it was a win. With their large foot print per model, I might find it difficult to bring to bear more than 3 particle shredders on their target before I assault, so that feels like the right number.

Aren't the particle shredders part of the fists, so not really something you'd leave off?

They are an upgrade you can take if you have a fist.

Damn. I've never seen anyone not bring them so I assumed they were a package deal.

AP3 flame templates? Yes please.

I figured out a problem with my plan. I don't have the extra Twin Disintegrator for my double TD terminator. Damn. I'll magnetize that arm for now and see if I can get lucky on ebay for the other one.

For 3.0, fist + disintegrator absolutely would be what I'd do if I were to get any Saturnines. (Which is a big if, I am iffy on their looks). The plasma bombards seem quite so-so, but one disintegrator is acceptably risky while still being strong, and the fist + shredder is just plain good.

That said, this thread is for 2.0, in which case I must doubt that a well-designed 2.0 stat block would make the flamer template a flat AP3. It's just so much stronger than the competition. I expect it'd have a decent Breaching though.
