For the fourth time in about 6 years I've gotten a box of models with the wrong base size. I got a box of Votann Hearthkyn Warriors, started building them, and something seemed off. I couldn't place it until I got out one from over a year ago. I finally placed it. New Warriors came with 32mm bases, old ones had 28mm. This didn't get officcially changed, did it?

Does this happen frequently to anyone else?

Warhammer website says supplied with 28.5 mm bases. Never had wrong bases here in.... almost 30 years.

It’s happened a few times recently, but more often missing bases for me. Had 3 boxes recently missing bases. Warhammer plus mini, sisters of silence box only having four bases, and chaos spawn missing one. GW just tossed three whole bags of bases in. So honestly, that was a Win!

It wouldn't have made me so mad if I hadn't assembled 3 guys on the 32mm bases (with plastic glue) before figuring it out. If it was super glue, no issue breaking them off the base. Plastic glue on the other hand......

Alfur?

Anywho, I technically had my Dire Avengers in the wrong bases. 25mm rather than 28mm, because my older Dire Avengers are from the old kits and I refuse to have inconsistent base sizes even tho they are literally the same old kit from the 2000s!

But other than that, I've haven't by accident...

..yet.

I've only gotten the wrong base sizes twice in around 25 years. I tend to often get an extra base or two, probably in every 10 or so kits. Though only with the more generic base sizes, not the larger specialist ones.(Though I did once get an extra 50mm).

My four are the aforementioned 32 mm bases on Hearthkyn Warriors, 40mm bases for FW Custodes terminators (instead of 50mm), Round bases for Custodes jetbikes, and 28.5mm bases for some Marines.

I feel bad calling GW and saying, "uhhh... my Tempestus Aquilons are missing the Sentry gu 's 40mm base... can you mail me a single base?"

Don't feel bad about it at all. Good minis companies do this kind of stuff without batting an eye. It's not even a huge cost as they usually just ship them in an envelope or something.

I had an Ad Mech combat patrol which inexplicably was just missing half the bases.

But I think that's the only time in who knows how many purchases.

This might be a little off topic since it's not bases, but once a LONG time ago I bought a Necron Megaforce (IIRC it was 48 of the old warriors, 8 Scarab swarms, 6 of the old destroyers, and a Monolith.) Basically all the plastic Necrons that existed at the time.

The Necron Warriors, in each sprew were missing 1 of their 4 ends to their guass rifles. I took it into my local GW and they were nice enough to just pull a box off the shelf and clip out the parts I was missing.
