Of the main GW games:

Age of Darkness: The Horus Heresy, Age of Sigmar, The Old World or Warhammer 40,000...

Which one is your favorite game to play?

40k by a lot and specifically 10th edition. I've never been a big GW player in general and 10th is the first time I feel like I want to play 40k over other game systems.

On the other 3. Horus Heresy doesn't do it for me. I really didn't care for pre-8th 40k and while its cool, it doesn't have any draw for me, particularly without Xenos elements.

I have nothing against ToW but I've never enjoyed rank and file and the kind of Tolkien fantasy it represents. It's cool, but not at all my thing.

Sigmar IS more my thing, but I've never found it particularly engaging. It feels like its mostly about resolving combat than making really meaningful decisions. It's a weird one because I tend to bounce off it for being too simple but attempts to make it more complicated feel more complicated than interesting.

I’ve not played 30k for a few editions, and only a few trial games at that. The closest to TOW is 6th edition WHFB.

So of AoS and 40k, I’ve been enjoying sigmar a bit more recently. Just having more fun playing it.

Of the choices given?
40k (9th or 10th edition). AoS (3e) is a close second.

I haven't played a game of 40k in almost a year now, but I've been enjoying AoS and The Old World a lot. Honestly Middle-Earth should be added to the main games, it's bigger than Necromunda/Blood Bowl even if it isn't quite up there with the other four in the list.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I'm noticing people are slowly being converted to AoS...

I took the WarCry plunge... don't know enough about the full game to make a conscious decision to invest.

Reading about it in the newest WD...

Age of Sigmar is our club's focus. We're having a blast with it. I also play other systems from both GW and other companies, but a number of our members only play AOS. Heresy is our second most common in the club.

Another vote for Middle Earth as it is about in the same position as TOW.
It's also GWs best game of all times.

Adeptus Titanicus is the best game of all time.

Sadly, I think it's past specialist and sitting next to the Ark of the Covenant where it's being studied by top men....

I'm gonna cheat and say it's LOTR as well because I don't play any other GW games any more. I use my minis for other games like Grimdark Future but I haven't played 40k since 6th edition!

Kill team is pretty good, but it also feels quite non-GW in its design, and that's the appeal.

Main GW games were jaw-dropping for me a quarter of the century ago when I started playing them, but now, the entire game design revolution later (one that can be seen in other games), they feel tedious and stale and obsolete, and offer nothing of interest. Their "width not depth" design paradigm just can't obfuscate the shallow core from someone with decades of gaming experience, I guess.

I only played 30K 1.0 a few times and it was fun but i was into it for the mechanicus more than anything else.

As for the most played- 40K by far- specifically 5th ed....or more specifically i played 3rd-5th when they were active, walked away during 6th and when 8th dropped we went back to playing 5th.....been playing 5th ever since then, 2017 IIRC.

It is my go to for fast paced large army wargames in a scifi setting that maintains a heavy dose of thematic play. we can do a 2k game with 5-7 turns in about 1.5 hours.

If i want highly detailed skirmish/alt activation/etc... i can play other systems.

I wanted to try Kill-team, but I got bad reviews about the latest edition.

I didn't know it was a "main game".

So basically, the main games are WH40K, AoS & Kill-team?? al the rest are Specialist?

For me it would be Age of Darkness.

That's probably because 5th and 7th edition of 40K were when I had the most spare time and a larger gaming group, so my fondest memories are of of 5th and 7th Edition. 30K sits nicely as an updated 7th, with a bit of earlier editions and new stuff thrown in. And it's way more narrative than current 40K, which is my preferred play type.

I would actually like to play more 40K, but I zoned out a bit during 10th and feel it would be pointless trying to catch up at this point, so when 11th kicks off I can start from the beginning and hopefully won't have loads of catching up to do.

I do think GW would get more money out of me if they put the brakes on a bit, but no doubt I am in the minority.

No.
I think if you simply go to GWs site the question of what THEY consider "Main Games" will become quite clear.

Just scroll down the main page until you get to Shop by Setting.
Wether you swipe L/R, all you'll find are 40k, AoS, Heresy, Old World, & Middle Earth.

All others? Get buried in the heading Other Games. Wich requires further searching.

The only GW game I had a passion for was Blackstone Fortress. The rest ain't doing much for me but I'm chipping away at some things...

Twilight Cavalcade for Combat Patrol.
Two teams for Kill Team: Age of Darkness, Iron Hands & Iron Warriors.
A post-WOTR campaign for old MESBG
Saruman vs Gandalf wizards duel game.

...and thats it for now. All quiet on the GW front...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Blood Bowl is the best game of all time

Of the big 4 HH, but haven't tried out Old World yet which is by far my favourite setting.
